I actually like the cell shaded look. It's especially true when the game is based on an anime or a cartoon. It looks a lot better then trying to force a hyper realistic 3D model onto a beloved 2D character.
Klonoa is bad ass! The Original Klonoa for PS1 left a sizable impression on the market with his fist game in Japan, especially with Die Hard Gamefan in the U.S., back in the day.No wonder it made a debut early on on the PS2.

If you like cell shaded stuff then go watch the anime movie "Appleseed Ex Machina" it is cell shaded goodness

actually the cell-shading is more of toonrealistic proces is not too bad, gives to the game color, funny details, and the old school cartoon style.
