I really think they

I really think they should've just stuck to consoles, after all the marketing there made no sense at all :P If the sega saturn was coming out soon, why would they even bother selling addons for the sega genesis?

Because sega did not communicate

the 32x was made by sega of america and the saturn was being made by sega of japan. SOA never told SOJ that they were even making the 32x. thats why.

Perhaps

I actually thought it would of been a good idea.If they had more games for it,better Marketing, and less complication to use.Even though it failed miserably Sega probally did it just to stall until the saturn came out.Or just incase nintendo busted out with something of there own.but bottom line is it "FAILED"

Nice shot with the

Nice shot with the bow.

Yeah... Sega Genesis was a classic system... then all that shit started leeching off of it. I mean I don't know what Sega was thinking, to do that to the poor little Genesis. Hell, with Saturn on the way, any games too technically advanced for the Genesis could have come out later on the Saturn, anyway.

Seriously, I don't know why Sega felt it was necessary to try and keep the Genesis alive that last year before the Saturn. If anything, they hurt their cause by making themselves a laughing stock.

I honestly think that the decisions made by Sega during this time was what started the downward spiral that ended with Sonic being released on Nintendo.

nice compound bow

comedy?...where?

You Nintendo Nerds are sooo

You Nintendo Nerds are sooo lame!!

SEGA rules. SEGA had blast processing which smoked your lame "less than 7 MHz" CPU!

LOL...sorry...just joking there.
Actually, I am quite the fan of both Sega and N. Plus Atari, SNK, etc...I love it all!!

What?!

I mean: Not only that this piece of plastic was garbage at all, but it was also a big marketing-failure, like AVGN said a new developed console was on the way to be sold in several game-stores. So it was a failure, from the gamer and the financial point of view!

WOW

Sega made 2 add ons to expand Genesis and they could of just scrapped that idea and make a totally new console to compete with Nintendo. WTF were they thinking?!?!?

Sega was desperate back then

Sega was desperate back then so they put out this piece of shit to compete with the awesomeness of the super nintendo.

Sega CD and the Neptune

the Sega CD I thought wasn't that bad, and yes the 32x Should have been a console, it would have owned the Super Nintendo! It would have probably been able to produce the better sound for Doom, it would have more marketing and more games, not than the Super Nintendo! that shit has like 1000 games and in Japan it had like 1000 more, and it also looked awesome, i mean look at that thing! it was so cool, i would have bought it just for its awesome!

Awesome

I loved doom to the music rocked on snes :D

Even as kids we made fun of the 32x

I remember when me and my brothers found out about the 32x, we all just pointed and laughed at it. Our first reaction was "Oh, looks like Sega finally realized that Super Nintendo has better graphics than Sega Genesis." But what REALLY got us laughin was when we found out that even with the 32x, the graphics were STILL worse than the SNES!

The 32x is a perfect example of why Sega failed as a company. Sega of America and Sega of Japan were virtually two different companies, and in many cases ended up competing against each other. There was almost no communication between the two, and their corporate government was anarchic at best. That's why you ended up with crap like the 32x and the Neptune being developed at the same time as the Saturn, and one of the Saturn's best games-- Sonic Xtreme-- never even got finished. By the time they got to Dreamcast, they just plain ran out of steam from all of the civil wars happening within the company.
