E3 2008

And so we save this as our final entry from E3 2008- finally. Will you see any gameplay in this video? No. What you will see if the worst use of the Wiimote ever... and shockingly enough I'm not talking about Wii Music. Watch Destin as he can hardly contain himself from asking, "Are you serious?" We have no idea why no one is talking about this.

There are a lot of stories to tell about E3 2008 but this one may take the cake. I embark on a dangerous quest to find G4's legendary, elusive Gamer's Lounge... and an epic adventure begins.

If you need an introduction to who Ed Boon is you really are in the wrong place. Obviously one of the coolest things for me at this year's E3 was getting to spend 10 minutes with this video game icon. While I could fanboy out and talk to the guy for literally hours, I just tried to throw everything at him that I ever wanted to know about the MK series that could still be answered in a short time frame. I figure that if I was curious about it, chances are you are too. If you're a fan of video games at all you need to see what he has to say. The best part? He's a fan of ScrewAttack! No joke!

When you go to a big event like E3 there is really only one question on everyone's mind. I wanted to find that answer. I did... and a whole lot more.

It's no secret- Sonic has sucked lately. Recently there's been a little bit of buzz around Sonic's next title on the horizon and at E3 Ben had a chance to check out a demo. Unfortunately they didn't allow cameras inside but that won't stop the ultimate Sonic fanboy of filling you in on his thoughts.
In addition, the SEGA meeting room showed off some other games like the anticipated "MadWorld" and little known about "Bayonetta". With a truly salty lineup, it's no secret that SEGA was one of the hits of E3 2008.

This past week everyone was busy talking about E3 but the true event was taking place about 15 minutes away in Santa Monica. If you've seen the King of Kong you know the backstory between Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell- so do we have a new world record holder? You might be surprised at the results! A big thanks to our friends over at GirlGamer.com who hooked us up with the oh-so exclusive invite. Chick gamers are rad.

If you've been coming to ScrewAttack for any more than just a couple days, you know that we're big fans of Street Fighter, in particular myself. I grew up blowing all my money on it at Pantino's Pizza with some great friends. While admittedly I've been fairly underwhelmed with E3 so far, the Capcom booth has reenergized me whenever I'm tired for the simple fact that it's the closest thing to playing in a real arcade as I've gotten in quite a long time. The game is honestly way better than I expected it to be and as of right now based off what I've played I can already put the game up at the top of the list of Street Fighter games... if not the best.

We had the unsuspecting honor of being the witness to a private concert from one of the most influential bands in history on Wednesday night. Pumping the release of Rock Band 2, Harmonix pulled out all the stops by bringing in Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, the remaining members of The Who, to preform a nearly two hour set that was absolutely amazing. If we were there, we want to at least give you a small feeling of what it was like and although no video cameras were allowed we did manage to score some still shots. We wish we could say that the pics don't do the event justice... it was absolutely incredible.
Many thanks to Jessica from AllGames for some of the pics!

One of my personal most anticpated games when it was announced, I had no idea it was going to be at E3. Capcom is God-like for bringing it.

How's that for initials? It's interesting to hear what The Nerd's initial impressions are seeing as he was someone who didn't even know this game was coming out.

We're pulling out all the stops for this year's E3- live coverage of Microsoft's, Sony's and Nintendo's press events, updates throughout the day and live streaming footage from us throughout the day (so keep checking back throughout the day). We could literally pop on live at any second! So what are we gonna do to get you geared up for the big event? Bring in three of big names to get their predictions.
