We have had some incredible eating challenges in the past- punches to the 'nads, a nugget snorted through the nose and of course Ben nearly dying. While the consequences may not have been as severe at the Iron-Man of Gaming, we may have found someone that can put Jose (complete with Sharpee 'stache) to shame in terms of packin' it away: 2007 g1 of the Year BirdmanTWIG. While we planned for the competition to be with Twinkies, we felt like upping the calorie intake...

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith!

If you didn't know, we had this little event last weekend called the Iron-Man of Gaming. We gave away a ton of cash, had a kick ass time and premiered the new Guitar Hero: Aerosmith a full week before the game was released as the final game of the competition. For those of you not fortunate enough to be there, you'll be seeing a lot of videos from the event over the next couple weeks. Let's just start at the end and work our way around.

We have a NEW Iron-Man

After 4 days, 10 games and some absolutely EPIC matches we have a NEW Iron-Man of Gaming. An incredible showing in Guitar Hero: Aerosmith propelled Harrison Fluster past last year's champion, Chris "Kumachine" Delp by the slimmest of margins. If you missed it you truly did miss out.

In the next coming days and week's you'll be exposed to the fun that we have at this year's Iron-Man. The response was outstanding and if you are a g1 that attended don't be afraid to blog about your experience, good or bad! We want to know what you liked and what we need to improve on to make this event even more awesome for next year. Congrats to all the competitors, attendees and especially volunteers who made this year's Iron-Man even better than what we thought.

The Twinkie Aftermath

Since we're wrapped up with Iron-Man of Gaming 2008 right now (which is kicking ass btw), as opposed to bringing you a clip of the week we wanted to bring you reaction from yesterday's Twinkie Test video... straight from Destin. Keep in mind, this was the first time he actually found out that Jose's massive tongue was on the twikie he ate. And don't worry, the Clip of the Week will return next week.

With Iron-Man of Gaming 2008 up and rolling we have a full slate of fun activities scheduled in addition to the actual tournament. Today we'll have a live eating contest that will surely be entertaining for everyone involved. Everyone thinks it's a great idea... except Destin.

The last few weeks have been crazy for me and a lot of effort has been put in by a lot of people to help make Iron-Man 2008 what it is this year... and it hasn't even started! Today at 5pm the doors of the Grapevine Convention Center open and with it the fun will begin. Could we have 5 people show up? Sure. But our goal is to have as much fun as possible with however many people are there: 5 or 5,000. We've got a great weekend lined up for sure so we wanted to give you one last run down of some of the "other" stuff going on this weekend. Take a glance and see what you're missing. If you're sad you can't come you should start planning for next year right now.
