Today Time Warner and Viacom work things out, we discover that the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 are linked, and a kid gets arrested because of comments he made to Blizzard.
Well you seem to get excited over everyday things, well here is a big one... The sun will rise every morning and the sun will set at the end of every day.

Wait, the guy's trail is on January 6th?! How is he supposed to get Elebits on the DS the first day it's released if he's in court? Everyone who owns a DS is going to get it! (If they don't plan on getting it, they bloody well should as it's the only good DS title I can think of in the foreseeable future.)

Just... THE BEST WII GAME EVAR! Well, not really, I just like it. I don't think I'll be getting the DS game, I liked the original throw stuff around with the wii remote concept. I'm not ready for some puzzle (or is it strategy?) stuff.

People threatening suicide aren't "arrested." Calling the police to handcuff them and get them somewhere for help is the fastest solution... and in such cases fast is a very, very good thing lol

According to the source of this news, the teen did get arrested and is being charged with first-degree misdemeanor. Would it be up to Blizzard if they want this charge to stick?
Submitted by Keavy_Rain on Thu, 01/01/2009 - 11:29pm.
For example, in California, if you admit you're suicidal in the presence of a health care worker/public servant or attempt suicide you're automatically placed into psychiatric care for a minimum of 72 hours and only released when the doctors caring for you believe you are no longer a threat to yourself.
I know because I have two friends who went through this. One, when released, went through with it and the other did it because he couldn't afford drugs and treatment for his schizophrenia.
The charges could have to do with him admitting he wasn't serious. After all, this Blizzard employee had no idea if he was or not and did the right thing, considering the circumstances.

It was mostly because the fact he disrupted their working when they could have very well been tackling a serious emergency. Say an ambulance is driving down the street, you don't start screaming and faking convulsions.
In this case it would have been more like you don´t fake convulsions promoting someone to call the ambulance, but yeah in that view it makes sense. Wasting the healthcare systems time and resources and all that.
Anyhow I´m all game for a law that allows the police to arrest everyone who falsely threathens suicide :D

So faking a suicide threat because of something in game...
Riddle me this stupid ass teen who most likely got his ass beaten by his dad after having to be picked up from the police station... WHEN IN THE WORLD HAS THIS EVER FUCKING WORKED?
It will be funny if he is sent to jail, he will get to be the "bitch" to a large man named Bubba.
And yeah, I had a chuckle at the stand by me joke.

Can't watch videos at work, but read the news links. Figured that'd make up for things until work ends.
To think, we were just discussing the Time Warner/Viacom dispute, and it's already starting to clear up. Whatever makes both companies happy, I don't care. But removing Viacom's line-up from Time Warner's distribution would have been the wrong idea. I'm glad the big wigs are finally cooling their heads and thinking about things. Still... retards...

Jk. nice hard news. I can just imagine the xbox fanboys ripping out their skins. This just proves that M$ can't make shit without breaking.
Dumbass teen. The law doesn't take jokes.
Am I the only one who remembers Viacom pulling this same stunt on Dish Network? Even though I could care less, since I hardly watch TV, its good things were resolved. A friend of mine works for Time Warner and told me don't be suprised if you bill goes up by $8 in the summer.

Where was the dress Corey? I thought you guys were gonna make the first episode of 09 a special one but I guess you hate flowers, puppies, moms, etc.
ps a strong look would be if Destin wore a one of those strap on bow ties around his neck. Class.
The original chip that sony had decided on for the ps3 was the chip that is now being used in the 360 (a 3 core powerpc processor simalar to the architecture of the processors in the mac g5s). However the final chip used for the ps3 was the cell broadband engine which came from a joint effort between sony, ibm, and toshiba to create a fast but power efficient server architecture. This architecture was presented to microsoft as a platform to develop a server edition of windows for, but microsoft refused (obviously because they know they don't stand a chance against linux in the server market).
Submitted by joeshadowman on Thu, 01/01/2009 - 10:12pm.
so Microsoft stole Sony's idea of a chip that Microsoft used for the 360, but Sony didn't use it for the ps3? oh use fan boys have something to say about that.
Submitted by Chibi-Acer on Fri, 01/02/2009 - 3:32pm.
Microsoft didn't steal it. IBM originally created the chip for Sony, but Sony used something else instead. So when Microsoft approached IBM, they were like "Sure, use this." They tweaked some stuff to MS's specifications, but the core of the chip is using IBM technology original intended for use by Sony.

Law against angst?
Wait, why did the kid get arrested? Is there a law in the states against angst? Not that I wouldn´t think it´s a good idea :D
People threatening suicide

A bit confused

Suicide laws vary state to state.
For example, in California, if you admit you're suicidal in the presence of a health care worker/public servant or attempt suicide you're automatically placed into psychiatric care for a minimum of 72 hours and only released when the doctors caring for you believe you are no longer a threat to yourself.

Final broadcast: 9/17/2008
If it was misdemeanor
It was mostly because the fact he disrupted their working when they could have very well been tackling a serious emergency. Say an ambulance is driving down the street, you don't start screaming and faking convulsions.
True enough, although...
In this case it would have been more like you don´t fake convulsions promoting someone to call the ambulance, but yeah in that view it makes sense. Wasting the healthcare systems time and resources and all that.

Also, was this episode prerecorded? because I don't see massive bags under Destins' eyes from new years festivities!

Sony had a hand in the 360
And that explains the RROD, its all sonys fault, I can see the TV movie:
Ok Microsoft show the judge on the puppet where sony touched you.
Note, Microsoft pointed to its Xbox

Suicidial Kid
Now, do that with all other kids who are poisoning the internet with their inmature behaviour XD

I used to be depressed like hell and I thought WoW caused it. Now I can see that WoW can actually help a little...weird.
You talked to Rivers Phoenix?
I'm impressed.
Stand By Me rules
Destin...
Are you insulting the power that is Ninja Warrior
That was uncool I agree
I'm not a fan of G4 but Ninja Warrior is a fun show, there's nothing terrible about it like most everything else on there.
Don't get why he would pick it of all things to insult.
