George Lucas doesn't have a new Star Wars prequel or a fifth Indy film coming out this year, and I don't think Shia LaBeof is in too many films this year.

I've just read this top 50 list and holy crap is it messed up:
Football Manager 09 beats TWEWY and Civilisation Revolution? The Witcher beats Bioshock? Brawl only nr 28? Mirrors Edge beats Rock Band? L4D beats Braid? The only 2 really good things about it are Fable at 6 (Well deserved in my opinion) and Fallout 3 at 1.
I hear ya. Bangai-O is one of the best budget titles (below $25) out there for the DS. Fast-paced shooting action, very colorful, and it keeps the gramers away. Seriously, this thing is like rat repellent to them. This is the type of thing that made gaming back in the day... only more weapons and graphic power and... um... you know what, I'm gonna stop now.

I have Bangai O' Spirits and can tell you it's a fantastic game. Definitely recommend it to all DS owners, especially for its reasonably cheap price tag. However, he's right about it beating brawl and Resistance on the Top 50 list. That's just rediculous.

Small game-capable PCs are a good idea, except if they're not upgradable it's really a waste of money. $1,800 for a system that will be outdated in a year and obsolete in 2-3 years is too much for me to swallow. Maybe if I was rich. Personally, I think they should just release a free form OS for the 360 and PS3 and solve all our problems.
Hats off to Peter Moore. I know a lot of people didn't like him because he worked for Microsoft, but he's one of the more in-touch people at the business end of the game industry who pays attention to what gamers think and knows his stuff.

Hell, I've never played Bangai-o, it's just, Treasure games are so revered by their fans it makes me wonder: do you really wanna open that can of worms? But hey, Ikaruga on Xbox live is awesome right? And Radiant Silvergun (import only Saturn game)? And... and... Gunstar Heroes? The best damn game on the VC? Ooh! Sin and Punishment 2! Maybe I'll actually be able to play it on a Wiimote!
has any body else checked out this list, its bullshit its got saints row 2 higher than brawl and mass effect, mario kart wii is only like 42, metal gear 4 is also at 30, tomb raider and mirrors edge (both good games) shouldnt be placed in front of any of these and the guys right not a singal sports game isnt on there i think they shhouldve at least rated fifa between40 and 50 this whole list is a joke in my opinion. and why is geometry wars number 7, havent we already seen the same thing before? and litlle big planet although very fun doesnt deserve number one, top ten yes but fallout or gta shouldve been there...

I must say, I enjoyed Saints Row 2 more then Brawl and Mass Effect.
But even though I own a PS3 and not a 360, I agree, LittleBigPlanet shouldn't be at number 1. I would have given that slot to GTAIV or MGS4.

Moore is right calling out Eurogamer over FIFA 09.
In the annual footy battles the roles have now reversed. Konami's PES (AKA Winning Eleven) is now the game that has not changed in years but is still being sold as a new game every year to the frustration of its previous players.
Since the X-Box 360 release, FIFA next gen has been under the development of a new team based in Canada and were up until 09 working on just potential. The new engine showed promise but there were still issues with 07 and 08 that held it back from being played all the time. That potential was realised with 09. Its a huge leap in term of playing virtual football not seen since the release of WE8:LE on the PS2 4 years ago.
To dismiss the achievements FIFA has made in 09 is totally unjustified.
Now is it the best game of 2008? Of course not. Is it the most popular game in North America? Of course it isn't.
But since its Eurogamer we are talking about here surely they have to realise the obvious. Other than still playing COD 4 and 5, Halo 3 and Gears 2, which game will Euro gamers be playing 10 vs 10 online football matches until next October for the next round of the footy wars? It certainly will not be PES 2009 or any other game other than FIFA 09.
I suspect its just another case of a "unbiased" gaming preview and review site that has been happily bashing EA while humping Seabass' leg while playing PES for years, that are unable to accept reality. EA managed to do the unthinkable and make a brand new engine that sets a new bar in football simulation while Seabass has screwed up his franchise for the last 4 years.

Bangai o is better than brawl which is just the gamecube version with shitty control and slightly better graphics.....and resistance well it isnt amazing

Destin totally trashed the game in out of the box, and by my blog articles, you can tell I wasn't happy about that. But i think I heard an unofficial apology when he mentioned bangai o spirits not being better than Resistance 2. That is just enough for you to go back on my good list. Now i have to go play some more Resistance 2 co op.
