Also, I'm amazed that anybody remembers Jazz Jackrabbit. I have both the 1st and 2nd ones, and I think I had the Christmas edition. Those were bread and butter back in the day.
And as long as I'm typin this, bein a sentimental ass, who remembers Tyrian? Or One Must Fall? I have a lot of memories playing those.
Dead Rising 2 would definitely need Co-op, and would benefit greatly from 4 player co-op at that. With the co-op not dieing, but turning into zombies to get the other players. (I know its been done before, but D.R. really missed the mark with no multiplayer)

A while back on Coin-Op TV the AVGN, Craig and Tom (yeah, a long while) Stuttering Craig mentioned something about Cliffy B saying "some stuff" at a party and Craig didn't really elaborate. I think Handsome Tom was trying to get Craig not to talk about it.
Stuttering Craig, when you met Cliffy B what did he do indicate he was a douche?

Yeah, back in the day the MPAA rating system was either too harsh or too lenient. You can find a few other mature movies that are PG. An example of it being too harsh is The Blues Brothers getting an R-rating.

Cliffy B never said MGS4 sucked or that he hated it he just stated that he doesn't want to make games that are so cut scene heavy he likes it to be in you face action so he feels that making a game similar to the narrative with MGS4 would be a mistake for Gears 2.
And to those calling Gears Overrated, at least The Epic crew brought something new to the table. I mean look at Halos Ratings. Everyone and their dog thinks the game is awesome, except for those who played any PC Fragfest like Quake2-4 or Unreal Tournament1-3. The Halo series is just a slowed down version of these games with horrible Weapon and vehicle balance. That and you can't call an Analog stick "Next Gen" when aiming with a mouse not only came first but is still far superior.
I mean come on, there was no such thing as a "NoScope" until halo was out, since at this time most if not all Popular FPS's were on PC and with the mouse had enough accuracy to hit someone without it.
Now, Im not saying that Gears is the ZOMG greatest thing ever, it has its issues, especially in its Netcode. The Netcode that epic uses for their games have always been made for Dedicated servers. Since XBL is P2P, the lag issue is awful. Hopefully in GOW2 they will have Client side Hit Detection. But how can you call Cliff, an arrogant douche bag without fronting any proof? All I have seen from him both from interviews and his posts in his forums is nothing but the truth!

CliffyB (and I will call him that until the day I or he dies) is honestly a pretty nice guy. I'd also like to point out that his exact quote says nothing about him not liking Metal Gear Solid. It says it's what he tried to make sure Gears of War is not because he believes passive entertainment is on it's way out for interactive entertainment (While admitting Gears of War 1 was lacking story in a negative way)... I love ScrewAttack and Hard News, but it is in serious need of an editor. This is like the 4th or 5th time they've been off or just plain wrong about something they've reported.
That said, I don't think passive entertainment is on it's way out at all, and I really, really wish Western developers would kick this "No cutscene" phase they've gotten in lately. He thinks that interactivity is on the rise up. I don't blame when the highest selling console is the Wii and that is all based of the idea of physical interactivity. This is just my 2 cents.
I don't mind the occasional 5 minute cut scene every so often, but if it starts to get long and dragged out then it just gets annoying, and makes you wonder "Am I ever going to do something in this fucking game, or am I going to just watch scenes for the next 45 minutes?" I buy the systems to play games, not watch movies, that's what I have a DVD player for.
It's just a shame because most developers don't even want 5 minute cutscenes anymore.
Like I said, Metal Gear gets a special privilege because it's Kojima and he knows how to carry a long cutscene, and it's part of the Metal Gear Experience. If anyone else were to do it, it'd be a different story.
