I wish they would normalize the prices across the world. Remember that stuff in the uk usually has the same numeric value as the us but the value of the £ is about twice that of the $ therefore in real terms us Brits are paying twice as much.

The Refurbished is just how it's ringing up on some SKUs, and is no way telling if the system that is being sold is refurbed or not. Though you are correct that the 20gb hard drives are getting axed for 60gb only.

You jumped the gun and claimed those dropped prices in stores were for refurbished systems. So even if there's no price drop (Which is still looking likely that it is, given the current sources, btw) you would still be wrong unless the only 299 systems were refurbished, and not clearance items.

Its not like XBM is a huge advancement, 360 has had it for years now. When PS3 gets a good game, then SA will report on it(they didn't ignore MGS4). And thuway, the reason I would pay $50 for XBL instead of play PS3 online for free is because I'd be playing games that actually didn't suck.
The PS3 online system suck, sir? Because I plug in a cord, log on to the game, and go on just fine.
you're also going to have to show me evidence that they ALWAYS look better on 360. Last I knew, the PS3 outperformed the 360 on both GTAIV and Oblivion, though both were marginal improvements at best.

When I heard the XMB/Trophy news for the PS3 I thought, wow the 360's had this for lke a year, and I planned on covering it tomorrow.

Theres 2 reasons I didn't report this today.
1. It would have been a joke at the expense of the PS3 and I'm trying to AVOID Sony bashing because I know I do it a lot.
2. The 360 has had this functionality since day 1 and I don't use it on my 360 either. Sony has essentially taken 2 things from Microsoft and added them to their console WHICH IS GOOD. They've needed this update for awhile, and I'm excited to see how the XMB works. I just didn't feel like this needed to be mentioned. It's essentially Sony getting another firmware update.
Who cares about XMB News....It's only Sony related news, nothing big at that.
If you want that check your PS3, why would you want to know about the same thing twice anyways.

For what it's worth, the PS3 is a good, powerful system that in a year or so, is gonna have some amazing exclusives. It sucks now, to be sure, but when Disgaia 3, Siren 3, Final Fantasy XIII, White Knight Story, Twisted Metal, Little Big Planet and others come out, it's gonna be a system to have. It's probably not going to be able to play catch up to the 360's monstrous library, but does it have to? I'm totally fine with it being the N64 of the next generation.

They've needed this update for awhile, and I'm excited to see how the XMB works. I just didn't feel like this needed to be mentioned. It's essentially Sony getting another firmware update.

For what it's worth, the PS3 is a good, powerful system that in a year or so, is gonna have some amazing exclusives. It sucks now, to be sure, but when Disgaia 3, Siren 3, Final Fantasy XIII, White Knight Story, Twisted Metal, Little Big Planet and others come out, it's gonna be a system to have. It's probably not going to be able to play catch up to the 360's monstrous library, but does it have to? I'm totally fine with it being the N64 of the next generation.
