If you didn't know, we had this little event last weekend called the Iron-Man of Gaming. We gave away a ton of cash, had a kick ass time and premiered the new Guitar Hero: Aerosmith a full week before the game was released as the final game of the competition. For those of you not fortunate enough to be there, you'll be seeing a lot of videos from the event over the next couple weeks. Let's just start at the end and work our way around.

On a side note, you can tell Aerosmith is just like rock of the 80's, it looks exactly the same graphically, from the menus to the venues, just different songs. Which is kinda of a let down.

I don't know... Guitar Hero didn't really need a sequel or expansion, since the only thing they change are the songs.
Might as well have a "Guitar Hero : World Tour" and include sample songs from every rock album in history, then allow the player to download a full album and play those songs.
That's just my idea.... Anyways, awesome video, great IMOG montage. :P

Yeah, no one had touched it before.
Yeah, that was a cool way to end the tournament.
But what about that freeplay afterwards? Did no one care that there were people playing during those last moments of tallying scores, that were decidedly BETTER than the finalists?
Surely we've all noticed the ubiquitous plinking noise in the background of this vid. I guarantee you someone would have 100'ed that song that very day. Maybe not me (not much on tremolos), but somebody.
But those freeplayers weren't competing, so no one really cares. Right. Whoops.
didn't those freeplayers took part in the preliminary games, of course, got into the final 16 and then just CRUSHED the other 15 guys?
Perhaps you can tell us why they didn't :(

I definitely saw some really great players afterwards, but it doesn't really matter because the tournament was based off of 10 games, not just the one.
You guys should do a whole "Iron Man" documentary. You have to have enough footage to go from the beginning of the convention/set up to the winner and clean up right?? I know everyone here would watch it!!!

Its like an inspirational montage set to Aerosmith, it was like the tournament from Karate Kid, where the numbers gradually dwindled to the winner....congrats.

That looked awesome, but honestly, Ragdoll may have not been a good choice, as it's a really easy FC. If I had gone and made it to the top 16, maybe I could've won. But, I didn't, and I wouldn't.
