We have officially opened 100% of the categories for the 2008 Gaming's 1337 Awards. Included now are both the "Community" and "Industry" categories. What is the best of the best? Click the image and help decide. You only have untill Friday, December 5th to get your nominations in before finalist voting ends later this month.
Welcome to ScrewAttack's end of the year awards. We call them "Gaming's 1337". Why are they called that? Simple. These are the very best of the best as voted on by YOU, the gaming community.
Here's how it works. We have 12 categories- 6 Community and 6 Industry. The Community categories are made up of the people who play the games. The Industry categories are made up of the people who make the games. Make sense? It's easy!
The Community nominations open up Monday, November 24th while the Industry nominations will open Monday, December 1st. Both categories' nomination periods will end Friday, December 6th.
You can nominate as many of the awards as you want BUT YOU CAN ONLY NOMINATE ONCE PER DAY. If you try to nominate more than once, your original nomination will be void. Bummer... so play by the rules.
This is important so pay attention- ScrewAttack.com and all ScrewAttack personalities are NOT eligible to win in any category. This includes: Stuttering Craig, Daily Destin, HighSchool Ben, Jose ElMexicano, Guru Larry, UK Wez and the Angry Video Game Nerd.
When nominating a reviewer or machinima series from youtube make sure to include the entire link to their youtube channel (ie- http://www.youtube.com/user/screwattack) and not just youtube.com.
Finally, after all the nominations are calculated the voting period will take place Monday, December 8th through Friday, December 19th. The winners will be announced in late December. Talk about a nice Christmas gift eh? Now get nominating and keep checking back to see if your favorites are finalist to take home a 2008 Gaming's 1337 Award!

Darn it. I only listen to sidescrollers, I don't watch machinima, and this is the only gaming website I really visit besides the occasional trip to gametrailers. For independent gaming show I voted for The Guild...I hope that qualifies. They're still ongoing but I forget when they released their last episode. For best reviewer (besides AVGN)...Yahtzee of course. As for best comic the only one I could think of was Penny Arcade. Anyways looking forward to seeing the results.

For best reviewer, I did the Video Game Critic. Sure, Yatzee and the Nerd are fucking hilarious, but it's more spectacle than review. This guy reviewed old games, new games, consoles and even provides links to Ebay and Amazon for every game he reviews. Now THAT'S handy

So, just one submission a day is that on a 24 hour clock? Can I vote at 1 am one day and then have to wait til after 1 am the next is that how it works?
Anyway, This is cool, but the nominations are hard. Best reviewer... I think that Stuttering Craig is great on the VGVs, but then there is Little Miss Gamer over at PBC Productions with well laid out review shows but no one kicks out the jams like the AVGN though so my vote for that one went to James. Machima for me goes to RoosterTeeth for the RVB series which is simply badass! Jose should do some Machima with Pokemon and COD. Independent gaming show went to LIAG cuz I wish my life were like that in a way it is sometimes. Gaming website of course SCREWATTACK.COM! Gaming comic went back to RoosterTeeth with their hilarious RT comic although Captain S comic over at PBC is cool just not as frequent. Podcast sidescrollers duh!
