ppl hated on fable because the wanted it to fail, they wanted peter molyneux to be wrong. But in the end it was actually a good game (although not what was originally intended) but still a really good game.
Fable 1
The first Fable failed because Peter Molyneux hyped it up beyond what they could deliver. It was the main reason I originally bought an Xbox. He said that since the Xbox had a built in hard drive they could do some amazing stuff in the game, some examples he said were when you were growing up, you could cut a persons face and they would grow up with a scar where you cut them..... also things like you could cut down trees and there would be a stump where the tree once was and all these other really cool things. When it did finally come out people who were expecting those things (myself included) were let down because we were listening to all the hype.
So basically it was a decent game, and if you weren't following the hype up on it before it was released, it would've actually been a good game.

Fable 1 was great, but not
Fable 1 was great, but not as great as everyone thought it was going to be. This is a fun game to play through but don't expect anything amazing.
Also for Fable 2 I suggest approaching it in the same respect. I doubt you will see any mind blowing gameplay or features while I bet it will be mega fun.
Love This Game
Oh man i loved Fable. I think Its mainly Due to picking it up a year after it came out and not following Peter's earlier promises. Guess theres a lot to be said about low expectations.

No wonder I could never open it, lol jk I loved the hell out of that game and the special re-release they came out with later on, shame that they promised so much and delivered so little for it, but oh well I still loved it and play it on my OG Xbox just for kicks to use the emote actions and get a good old laugh.

I never expected Jose to do Puntos on this game, but it was still a good episode. That "S-H-I-T" trick was always funny.
Even more money
theres an even easier way to make money just get enough money so you can buy out and item which would give you a profit ie beerkegs or any of the jewels buy them all them sell them back the same guy just keep doing it over and over and make tons of cash and get heaps of exp as well you can get like 50,000 profit for each transaction once you do it with the diamonds in north Bowerstone.

And yeah, I ´m going to do it just for teh lulz. With the Buy/Sell cheat you can even get the gheyest non-legendary sword in the game (such as the Master Greatsword) as early the hobb fight with Wisper. Just ignore the barkeeps cuz their prices are always the same and thus can not be exploited. Another unbalancing trick is to use the bubble (or Will Whield but bubble sounds more WoW paladin and thus just as ghey). As long as it is on, your combat meter CAN NOT BE RESET. The result is simple; find a truckload of mobs, kick some MAJOR ass ... and once the fight is over collect the green orbs and/or flick the bubble on and off as fast as you can with the meter as high as possible to get insanely high exp scores. Getting like 20k XP in a fight (even 75k XP in later ones) is not uncommon. Last but not least, mixing Berzerk with Multistrike/Multishot = instant pwnage !!! The DMG increase of Berzerk will compensate the DMG decrease of Multistrike/Multishot, making the total when maxed out about 750% DMG IN ONE ATTACK. Add in the bubble and your set to taking down the end boss in 4 hits tops.

Peter Mall-in-you talked so much mad shit about his game that everyone got really high expectations. The game itself was pretty good. He should have just proclaimed it would be fun and look good. Then nobody would have been disappointed. Instead He said it would "change everything". I don't know if he literally used those exact words but that is the gist of it. I think he learned from his last mistake. I haven't heard to many bad quotes from him that promise more than even UPS and Fedex combined could provide. But if you enjoyed the first game then you should enjoy the second from what I can tell. And for those of you idiots who listen to reviews as if they were te bible, then shame on you. Rent the game if you want to know how good it is. If it sucks then 5 bucks lost.

Awesome Puntos there Jose! I've played Fable through like 3-4 times and the only Puntos I knew was the one to get him to say shit. The others are genius though, never thought of doing them!
Gotta love the Fable, I was lucky enough to have it completely fly under my radar and not hear ANY of the hype. So when it came time to hear about it, a friend recommended it and man I love that game!
The game is awesome, most of the time if people say its crap its because they bought into the hype and some of the things that Peter Molyneux Promised would be in the game but then weren't on release.
Really annoying when he does that, I mean don't get me wrong I love Black & White and Fable but he REALLY tries to sell the game too much!
But anyways, from someone who hadn't heard a thing about fable and then played it, its awesome, totally recommend it.

best fable tip
best fable tip that one of my friends figuired out is when you get to the arena part of the game just before you fight whisper do a quest save, quit and load it up again this way you keep all the experiance that you gained during the arena fights so if you keep doing it ovr and over you can level all your characters abilities up fully quite early on in the game

Anyway, that video was quite charming. I did that S-H-I-T trick many times to get the extra exp from the balverines. My biggest problem with Fable was the game's length. 20 hours is not worth the $50 I paid for it... I'm hoping Fable II is longer, since I'm buying the limited edition.

Buy as many gems as you possibly can, if you have a large enough sum, sell them ALL AT ONCE to the shop near lady grey's manor, then buy them all back, then sell them all, and repeat. you will get MOUNTAINS of cash.

Such an awesome game. Its always fun in finding secrets in games. Even if they piss you off sometimes of what you discovered.
