Actually, these were made right after the first two games, which featured a sword that shoots lasers and it was pretty hard to tell what hand Link used. But yeah, they're pretty dang cheesy lol!

The easy to see clue in Zelda 1 one was that Link held the shield towards his right hand when facing toward the screen. If you get a still like http://analogmedium.com/blog/2007/04/ZELDA.gif , he is definitely pricking his sword with this left hand. It's just damn hard to see in motion.
