Crash has always been a kids type of game but he used to be appealing to teenagers as well. Now it seems hes strictly for children under 12.
My younger brother actually got his last game i think it was called "Crash of the Titans" it was alright but not as good as his older games. It was almost identical to this game except you rode "titans" instead of "mutants"

I remember playing his PS1 games, and they were awesome for it's time. I still remember finding my first cheat in Crash 2. I was happy to find one of those on my own. When I played the first PS2 Crash, I wasn't as excited. Seeing his downward spiral, you gotta wonder when he will make a triumphant return.
Old Crash great; new Crash boring
I remember playing the first 3 Crash games and it was great. But for some reason, I completely lost interest after the third one. It's a real shame too because it could have been a popular video game character like Mario or Sonic (though in Sonic's case it not a good type of popularity these days). Great Scoop on the game Ben.

I find it odd that it's being released under PS2 instead of it's next-gen brother.

It likely has a lot to do with development costs, the fact that the title just didn't require that much power, and the market saturation. If 1:5 households has a PS2 while 1:50 has a PS3, it makes sense to keep your games on the platform which reaches the most eyes.
That helps to explain why 360 and Wii over PS3 as well. I think you'll see other instances of this as PS2 heads on its way to the grave in late 2009.

Crash isn't relevant anymore
Cause its not made by relevant developers. Crash was originally developed by Naughty Dog who made 4 games in the crash franchise. Originally Naughty Dog Resided with Universal Games. However Naughty dog had plans for themselves as a developer and left to go work as an in house developer at Sony. When they left , they had to leave their old 2 franchise's behind Crash and Spyro the dragon with Universal since they own them. I would say both franchises have no been the same since naughty dog moved on.

I haven't played this but as a big fan of the series I have played a lot of Crash games and I played Crash of the Titans which was horribly underrated. I haven't played this one but it seems a lot like Titans so I probably will buy this. Also I like insane Crash.

The first 3 were amazing, the first ps2 one was pretty fun but had 5 minute load times and everything after that kinda sucked. except for crash nitro kart, which was a great "Remake" (i guess) of CTR for ps1.

I used to play Crash a little bit and I always loved all the funny animations they had when the fur ball died for what ever reason. He used to be a little cartoony but cool now they just threw the cool out the window and focused on the cartoon aspect. This is definitely a game for the kiddies.

i kind of thought Crash games died along time ago, but i guess i as wronge seeing the proof here, heck i only remember 1-3, after that nothing for any of the crash games till team racing, but then again if u ask me seeing how bad these one's are being made and that a different company is making them, crash in my opinion should have just died along with the other platformer games before it with lovable main character's and such.

yes back in the day crash was awesome & reached it's peak with 3:wraped (crash 2 is also good & 1 was alright) in fact crash team racing was a challenge to mario kart in fact later mario kart games took some ideas from ctr like more character's but unfortunately the original team behind crash, naughty dog left in 1999 & while the wrath of cortex was alright, (it's essentially a next-gen version of wrapped + that awful load time on the PS2), since the awful twinsinaty in 2004, the crash games just suck & are just aimed at kids now, I've certainly hadn't played a crash game since twinsinaty.
