I agree with you. Swimming controlls are not that good. And it's hard to see exactly where you are in water. So getting that coin refill hp can be frustrating.
Other than that i don't mind the camera or controlls except maybe when you get upside down.

i dont think the camera could be bad, i mean, the purpose was to make the sensation of gravity in small planets, if you could control the camera, it will like walking in a single way.
also the movent is... well, in my opinion the SunShine moves was more controlable has the way to galaxy, you can rip of mario more fast, and slicy.
And... you are complety right about execive lifes, is not like if you could waste 20 lifes in a single stage, also, you have to search in the level again... again.... and... yup, again only to find the secret stars, and play aaalll the game again with luigi? you now where the stars are, but that make the game soooooo boring, and makes you wanna make allll over again??? i dont think so.
Yeah, the game was INCREDIBLY easy, i beat it in less than a day and got 100% (no i didnt just sit there for like 20 hours straight) and to add, the controls were a little stiff to me, but maybe thats just me... overall i would give it about 8.5/10, sorry for like double rating it.. lol, and yeah this information DID convince me to actually get the game

I agree this game is wayyyyy to easy. I can beat that first boss (the weird pirana plant thing) in less than thirty seconds, no shit. But who gives a crap? It's a great game! The music is astounding. The control is sweet. And of course, the idea of mario in space is just awesome. The only things about this game that really really annoy me is how luigi goes missing at random. I don't even bother looking for him anymore, his ass can stay lost. Another thing that's irritating is the wave riding level where you ride around on the back of a manta ray. The control is rediculous and the level design pisses me off (no walls? Are you serious!?) the best part of that level is you don't have to do it. Yeah, fuck it. The game other than that is sweetness.
The original plans for the game's soundtrack were to use Latin-style tunes for the gameplay. They even made a full record of songs they planned to use, but Koji Kondo turned it down. The music then went to Miyamoto who had a choice between pop, pop/orchestra mix, and all orchestra. Obviously we know which one he picked

i have to agree the boss figths are really cool
and the game is not disorienting, what kind of complain is that? i mean sometimes is the camera in the wrong angle but it doesn't pisses you off

it't toooooo damn repetitive. seriously you end up going to some of the levels 2 or 3 times not only that but to beat the game you got to do it again with Luigi( he runs faster and is harder to stop)

Now, just a question to you Ben. I think that Super Mario 64 was awesome, great and gorgeous, but Super Mario Sunshine... It was fun, pretty good, but only that. I felt so disapointed about that game when i finished it in 4 days :/. Don't get it why ppl think it's hard. So my question is, do you feel the same about SMS? (No cellphone jokes ;>)
