That's awesome that the "new guy" is a she. I hope that Corey will fit right in with Screwattack, and she's as good as she sounds, then this place will just keep getting better and better.
BTW, I don't care about GTA4. I hate the GTA series, and well I guess that stuff is just not cut out for a guy like me.
Great podcast as always, and im really looking forward to the new Hard News as well. Also nice to have a girl back on the Screwattack crew, sorta gets rid of the sausage fest we had after liz was gone! :D
As funny as the joke was, I actually hope they choose a different name for Corey as opposed to "Footlong Corey". I don't know if anybody else feels the same way.

Wow... Perfect 10s... Am I the only person who thinks that rating a game a 10 shows perfection? Now a ten is a way of saying "We've waited for this long enough, let's give it praise." I can point out three recent examples of this. Recently.
GTA4: "FINALLY WE GET OUR REHATCH! YAY! 10."
Halo 3: "Yeah. Halo 3. Sweet. Finally. It's the same bloody thing. Whoo hoo. 10."
Brawl: I don't need to say anything here. It will win game of the year, even though it was FAR inferior to melee. Sad, but true.

Grand Theft Auto 4 just seemed like a rehash of the other games, with some stuff thrown in, and some better "grittier" graphics. Didn't really deserve any 10's. IMHO.

As for me GTA 4 is the first GTA I've liked since 2 when the concept was new. Halo 3 I can't complete since the disc is messed up, but it has a certain magic to it. As for Brawl, it was easy enough for me to get over the loss of Roy. YES NO MORE WAVEDASHING!
A sequel deserving a good grade is Mario Kart Wii, a true counterpart to the DS version.
Corey has a really quick wit, and is into a lot of Nerdy things. I think she'll fit right into Screwattack nicely. Great show, and I can't wait for next week!

I don't things would quite seem so bad with the whole gamestop thing if people didn't forget they actually had something pre-ordered. That ties up a lot of copies that could be sold to normal joes or those hardcore fans who actually want the game the second it comes out.
Ok that control arguement for call of duty 4 was lame there both gamepads on consoles so they both suck balls an equal amount. (and I got both consoles and I try all the versions.)
If you want to play call of duty 4 with the right controls.. you play it on PC. not the console ports.
the controls are horrible with out a keybaord and mouse and the console versions only supports 18 players online. the PC has 32 players (and looks and sounds better in every way) this is even with a cheep $12 mouse if you got a laser mouse from razor ( i use
habu, deathadder and copperhead) there is no contest. it has 12 times the tracking sensetivity a gamepad cant hit those 2000dpi x,y axis tracking there is just more of it them. sticks don't track all the movment of the stick or fast enough to get every postion of it down to the microscopic millemeter.
you can finsh the mile high club level after the credits and vetern mode with ease compared to the consoles since you move like 12 times faster with a mouse than a console controler analog stick and you can shoot everybody in the head before they even see you.
Forget the ps3 and xbox controls the PC is the real game. Try it, trust me dump both of them and use some PC for first person shooters.
seriously... People doing tournements at quake con would laugh at you guys if you suggest such madness as playing the console version of call of duty 4 with your little controlers in a tournment settings...
all the ports have a small amount of auto aim so you even have a hells chance of hitting anything with that damn analog stick if you get in the general range it's all you need and it kicks in for most console shooters.
get this play shooters they way the are made to be played that is what those damn analog sticks are trying to emulate and doing a sucky job at it a mouse trying to play like a pc shooter..

I understand that Brawl was overhyped, but how is it inferior to Melee?
It had more and better music than Melee, more stages, more fighters, more items... so I don't understand why people think Melee is better.

you would not want to play "time crysis 3" at home with an analog stick would you? no it would suck balls you use a lightgun.
street fighter 2 with a genesis 3 button pad? No you use an arcade stick with 6 buttons so you are not gimped and the game plays like it should.
pacman on atari 2600 vs arcade.. no contest it's the arcade the real game.
