It's time to play catch up a little bit and finally get our latest list up on the site- our best and worst reasons or should not trade in your Wii. Make sure to help spread the ScrewAttack word by digging the vid. Sure the Wii is on top of the charts in every sales list imaginable... but what should you do with yours? Keep it or trade it?

Even if the only good Wii games are all Nintendo titles, that's still a bunch of good games. Hopefully better devs will put out more content for the system, it's just a matter of time.
Percentage wise, there is more crap for the Wii, since lots of people are targetting it in an attempt to make a quick buck, but g1's should be able to pick out the gems from the trash. :)
This video is perfect in every way... even though it is decently old now... Oh well, I totally agree.... BUT now Mad World has been shown and the Wii might be worth keeping for a bit longer.
Remember the Red Steel trailer where you saw the dude hold the sword next to the guys neck? That's what I want.
Controls wise that is.
If you moved closer to the screen with you arm, your sword should go deeper in, and if you twist your arm, so should the game characters arm.
The Wii controls are so. . . 2d, if I may say so. It works as a mouse, but I want a game that reactes to your every move (Mario Kart could have been done with the Sixaxis.
Sorry Wii, im not gonna' sell ya, but you better impress me, but I guess you won't for Nintendo stoped beeing nice after you came...
FANTASTIC vid though. It's how Screwattack vids should be.
Light hearted, funny, and have a point.
i have a wii, and first of all, Red Steel sucks. secondly, if you move closer to the screen, it is obviously not going to delve deeper because the sensor bar is on top of the screen, not in the t.v. or in the remote. you're supposed to play from a distance, and if you do, you will discover awesome controls. and don't play red steel, you couldn't have picked a worse game to exemplify.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ScrewAttack does not believe video game music causes agression. Fat chicks do.
I wasn't saying that Red Steel should be the best of games, I meant as an example of how it shoudn't be done.
And why on earth did you say that thing about the sensor bar, Yes I know that it's the sensor bar that reads your gestures, i'm not an idiot after all.
Let me say again what I mean...
Take Galaxy fex. A great game. Pretty fun and entertaining.
BUT did the Wii controls really make it that much better.
Waving the Wiimote when I got into one of those star thingies or waving it to make Mario attack didn't make it a whole lot deeper. And the seequences with you on a ray or on a giant ball with star in wasn't all that fantastic.
The games should take real use of the Wii controls. Not use it as a mouse or waggle it around.
I hate it when button mashing is replaced with stick waggling.
I seem to recall Elebits having instances where you were required to move the the remote closer and further from the screen, as well as twisting it around and stuff. I could be wrong, since I didn't play it much.
in Cooking Mama (yes I've played it) there are many many instances where you have to move the remote closer to the screen or farther away, and it's no big deal. If that's what you want, then rent Cooking Mama and see for yourself. Or don't rent it because it sucks.

Craig is THE man! I don't own a wii and haven't purchased one 'cuz a) I've got a 360 and love it b) my mom has a wii at her place and it's fun for about 3 hours of boxing and the racing then gets monotonous and c) the online is TERRIBLE. I would only buy a wii for Christmas time so's I could sell it on ebay for a profit.
Submitted by Mandalorian30 on Tue, 05/20/2008 - 8:08am.
I still play my Wii more than both the 360 and PS3 together. I just have so much more fun with the Wii. Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Resident Evil 4 Wii, Resident Eveil Umbrella Chronicles, Lost Winds on WiiWare...my kind of games.
Nothing against the other consoles. I love them all, and feel they all have their purpose. But i renk Wii as my personal favorite. I get the most fun out of it.
Submitted by Mr. Neil on Tue, 05/20/2008 - 8:26am.
I just don't get it. While the controls are innovative, they're not controls that I want to use for every game. I'm annoyed that the traditional controller is an extra peripheral that you have to buy separately. I'm getting tired of Nintendo reinventing the controller every generation.
The Wii's library kind of reminds me of N64. Lots of cool Nintendo games, but not a heck of a lot else. Wii's a good console if you only like Nintendo games, but otherwise, it's really limited.

Yeah, a sexy girl beating up bad guys. You love it.
And that reason is Brawl. Really, it's the only reason i have it right now. Well, i did have Castle of Shikigami 3 pre-ordered but it got discontinued before even getting released in Canada(WTF you bastards). Now i'll have to hope that weird little game shop close to here gets it if i want some badass oldschool shoot'em up action on my Wii.
The other "reason" i'm keeping it is in hope that developpers finally use the controllers in fun and innovative ways instead of making crappy minigame games.
The only thing in the video i "half" disagree with is the online. I feel that multiplayer just isn't the same when i'm not next to the people i'm playing with. I understand the appeal with online, I think it's great, but I prefer being next to/actually knowing the people i'm playing with. I mean, i don't see who i'm playing with online, i might as well be playing with bots(albeit highly skilled bots).
I agree that the Wii's online is completely stupid though. Originally it was planned that it was one friend code per Wii, and that you could use the Wii's friend list in online games, which would have been bearable, but I guess they scrapped that. One code per game is the stupidest thing ever. Well, it worked with the DS i guess, since online isn't its main appeal(and it's limited on the online part anyways), but for a home console? There's no excuse. When 10+ year old games on the PC(Starcraft, Diablo) have better online then the Wii, you know there's a problem.
i say that and i don't even own one i've played
the wii enough to know that it kicks ass

The Wii controller has 6 axis capability. Full rotational, and full translational. If some of you guys are saying it's so "2d" then you aren't playing the right games. There are a few games that really nail this controller, but a lot that don't. Blame that on the developers, not Nintendo.

I like Stuttering Craig's point about games in the first part of the video. Video games do not make people violent any more than watching movies or reading books does. We ultimately have the choice to be violent, passive, or somewhere in between.
To illustrate my point and back up Stuttering Craig at the same time, take a look at Japanese society. If you have not been there, I would highly recommend, say, a summer vacation there if you can afford it. Check out some onsens (hot springs) while you are at it.
Anyway, Japan is one of the safest and cleanest societies in the world and almost all video games are made, developed, and produced there. It is foolish of our politicians- yes, I have a right to bash them since I am a U.S. citizen- to scapegoat video games when there are much more significant problems like out-of-control gas prices and terrible health care plans.
That's about all from me, but I'm sure you get my point. I hate politics so I tried to keep this comment as short as possible. Most politicians are about as honorable as lawyers that sue other lawyers- worthless.

And the video too!
Don't Trade, eBay
Seriously, if you trade anything into Gamestop or EB Games you are throwing money away. You can make double that on eBay easily.
Secondly, the Wii is just not that great of a console. Once the Orange Box came out for PC I didn't play the Wii for 4 months.
The online is WORSE THAN THE DREAMCAST'S ONLINE WAS.

About the Wii
Well I have a Nintendo Wii, and I agree that most 3rd Parties games sucks, but a few third parties games are alright.
The 3rd party games that I bought are:
-Naruto: Clash on Ninja Revolution.
-Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
-Medal of Honor Heroes 2.
-DDR Revolution Hottest Party.(My sister play it)
-Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.(More fun in hard mode + Challenging for one player)
Those games are alright I play all of them, and I like it.
third party games on wii that don't suck and are not ports
here are 2 others you might want to check out and rayman raving rabbids 1 and 2
