I had this on the good ol' snes and yes.. it sucked. Got sick of it after buying cuz I couldn't do anything with bike level which made me want to buy it! Agh well I actually haven't found many simpsons games to stand up to the standards of the actual series..

I remember this game. I remember the graphics being really good but never being able to play it because of the horrid controls. Pity, it really was a cool game.

I have played many Simpsons games hell I am a fan and I have only one question about this game that's been bugging the crap out of me is this a sequel or spiritual successor to Bart's Nightmare which is a good Simpsons game.
List of other good Simpsons games
1. The Simpsons The Arcade Game
2. The Simpsons Hit and Run
3. The Simpsons Game

For those of us who don't feel like dealing with MAME maybe adding it to DLC for $5-$15 wouldn't be too bad. They did it for the old TMNT arcade game for 360, why not this too?

I remember this and Bart's Nightmare being just God awful and unforgiving. The only levels I was able to beat on the cartridge were the tomato throwing stage, the baby stage and the water slide stage...the other three were horrible, long, unfair and stupid.
I managed to boot this game up on an emulator back about 8 or 9 years ago and using save states I was able to beat 5 of the 6 levels. I was in the prehistoric stage and the game couldn't emulate properly once you got to a certain part of the stage and it went all black. I was unable to beat the game even through cheating...
Also Bart's Nightmare, even with save states is IMPOSSIBLE, it all boils down to random luck. These games blow so hard. The Simpsons Arcade Game and The Simpsons Game are the only playable games out of the entire batch.

...it was the fourth grade and the world was my oyster. I rented this game and had mixed feelings. The water slide level was randomly generated though, as I tried to jot down a cheat sheet. And in the tomato throwing stage, you acquire eggs. Anyone remember Bart's Nightmare?

That's the only word that comes to mind when I remember Virtual Bart. The best section was, of course, the tomato/egg-throwing missions. Other than that, the controls seemed a bit tight to me.
Other than that, I always had fun running Pig-Bart into the meat-packing machines. It broke up the tedium of having to run away from clowns.
I hadn't seen much of this game before.
Nice to be informed! Shame the controlls sucked.

Meh, just play it on MAME.
Can't find an old arcade game? MAME probably plays it.
