Since today is my 21st birthday, I'm exploring all things good. That is good food, good alcohol as a newly legal drinker, good films and now good games. So, let's talk about a game I find to be absolutely superb: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island!

Warning: I posted this blog in February 8, 2009. I apologize if it's no longer relevant. I just wanted to share my thoughts about an old issue with my fellow g1s and settle this Nintendo fanboy freakout once and for all. BTW, I fuckin' love Nintendo. Enjoy!

I thought I'd let my fellow g1s get to know me better, so I wrote a little about who I am as a gamer. Enjoy!
An article on Yahoo! claims that a study has found that action games, particularly shoot 'em ups, can improve one's vision.
After reading the article, it seems that because the researchers are not gamers themselves, they made a slight mistake or more of a faux paus. They must've meant first person shooters, because the games used were Unreal Tournament 2004 and Call of Duty 2, so they're definitley not talking about U.N. Squadron or Galaga.

According to Rotten Tomatoes.com, this movie has a 00% rotten rating.
See it here.
Okay, so we all expected it to turn pretty bad (unlike the awesomeness of Street Fighter IV), so here are some funny ass quotes:
"As a fan of the video game series, I can honestly say that this is hands down one of the worst films I have ever seen. Chris Klein is so bad that he made the movie a comedy."

So many of us have been pining over a sequel to Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. Why wouldn't we be? Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 was a great game. It's my favorite fighting game and the different combination for various dream matches make this game timeless. It's awesome! How could Capcom top themselves in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3?

Which VGV used a sound clip at the end that said "Game over, Man!" in a surfer dude kind of voice? It may have been a top 10.
The sound clip comes from an Asteroids clone I played on PC back in 1999/2000. Besides asteroids, there were tin balls that made clink sounds when shot and green UFOs that said "No-ee-oh..." When you died, the high scores would be displayed and a guy that sounded like your stereotypical surfer guy said "Game over, Man!" It's actually Bill Paxton from the movie Aliens.
I just want one of the following things:
- The name of the Asteroids clone game

Top 5 Retro Gaming Badasses!!
With each generation of games come new heroes to journey through adventures and battle against evil forces. There are plenty of tough guys in games today like Marcus Fenix, Dante and Niko Bellic that are not your typical heroes. Just like with comic books, video games are trading out your typical do-gooders for flawed anti heroes in the search for more believeable and realistic storylines. Just like today's games, older games of yesteryear had their fair share of badasses, too. Let's take a look at the 5 biggest badasses in retro gaming.

UPDATE: This was a blog day post that asked what game g1s would rid from existence. Yes, this blog is old, but I thought I'd revive it due to the recent Spawn Video Game Vault. Enjoy and comment!
"If there was one game in the world that you could rid from existence, what would it be?" - Stuttering Craig, ScrewAttack.com
The answer is simple. Anything and everything that bares the name:

I've always wanted a ScrewAttack t-shirt really bad. I wanted to show my g1 love to my friends here in my city who are also ScrewAttack fans and official g1s. Money has been tight (I'm a college student) so I haven't bought one yet.
I did, however, buy the AVGN DVD when it first came out. When I checked the front page of ScrewAttack (like I do every morning) I saw that we could get 300 points and an entry into a contest to win a prize if we sent in pictures of ourselves wearing our ScrewAttack merchandise. I only had James' DVD, so how was I going to wear that?
