Yesterday's "Out of the Box": First time screwattack disappointed me in a long time

Well the Fallout 3 part was good, no problem there. Actually, after you showed it I even went to buy the game on Steam, and it's awesome. *thumbs up here*

The problem lies in the Resistance 2 beta part.

Well first you really chose a bad time to check it out since at the time the servers were down(this IS a beta, so they have to do tests and adjust the servers so that when the real game comes out there won't be any server problems, or at least they'd be reduced to a minimum), so that's really not your fault.

Spore Review

Spore came out yesterday, and I pretty much played it non-stop(with a pause here and there to eat, and a friend came to try Crysis on my new rig).

Yesterday I had a Spore day on my personal blog that I started a week ago(http://jobocan2.blogspot.com/ ... yay for shameless advertising!). Side note here: this personal blog will include both video game related stuff(that I will sometimes post on here) and other random stuff, so I can have a more centralized space for my stuff.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Surprisingly, might be worth buying (demo review)

The first few trailers didn't impress me much. Now more recent gameplay videos made it look pretty fun, but I was still quite unsure. Finally we get a demo, and I must say, it doesn't seem like such a bad game. I'll actually say it seems pretty damn GOOD.

Now let's start this mini-review.

I have a lot to say about the gameplay.

Bionic Commando Rearmed: More badass old-school action from Capcom (review of the demo)

Today the Japanese Playstation Store was updated with a demo to Bionic Commando: Rearmed. Of course, when i came back from work, I had to go and download it.

Now Bionic Commando was an awesome game on the NES (don't know about the arcade version, but I'm guessing it's just as good). And it was pretty innovative for the time. A platformer without a jump button? That's absurd! Oh wait, it actually plays awesome, that's crazy! Yeah, I was definitely taken by surprise when i played it the first time.

Games that need to be destroyed: Strangely most of them are really popular...

Games i'd like to detroy? There's lot of them. I won't list them all, but i'll list the notable ones.

Note: this is a series of rants, it might be long to read, i bolded the game titles for those who don't want to read through all the post

1942: Joint Strike... A true gamer's game

I never actually got to play the original arcade version, since arcades were really not popular over her. I remember a bunch of arcades opening when I was a kid that closed down within a month because they didn't have any clients, or very few. But I really liked the NES version when I was a kid. Although I sucked horribly at it, and didn't actually have it, everytime I got to play it I loved it.

How to make a bad conference: Brought ot you by Nintendo

I was excited for the Nintendo conference, hoping for cool first party game announcements, a few cool Thrid-party games and something new...

What we got... was horrible.
They start with a snowboarding game... Okay, it loks not too bad, the controls seem iffy. But why present something completely random like that at first?

Qore is shit (also mini-review of the new Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm demo)

Hey guys,

Well i gave in and decided to check out Qore. I figured that for 3$ it shouldn't be too bad and that if it sucked, well at least it wasn't too expensive. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Diablo 3 announced... I am actually happy of what they revealed on it so far.

After seeing it was announced, there was one thought that scared me. "What if they make Diablo 3 an MMORPG?" I know it would have been stupid for Blizzard to make a new MMORPG that would have competed with their high-selling World of Warcraft, but still doubt remained in my mind. Diablo 3 would obviously be completely ruined if it was an MMORPG, because it would remove parts of it's core gameplay to make it more MMORPG-like. And the fact that you would have to pay monthly would at least detract me from playing.

The Spore Creature Creator demo has been leaked: My thoughts on the demo.

Hey guys.

Earlier today the Spore demo was leaked (not sure if i can post a link to it on here, so just in case i won't).

I've been trying it out a bit. I must say it's really fun to play around with. The options are pretty much limitless, I can't imagine how many possibilities there will be when the full version comes out.

The creator is quite easy to use. On the first creature i made, i had a little trouble making the spine shaped like i wanted it to, but after some screwing around I mastered it. That is all there is to the learning curve really.
