A controversial idea, indeed. I discuss the idea of playing a game not for fun, but treating a game as a learning experience. Gaming is about being challenged, and learning how to overcome the challenges you are faced with. Having fun is not the reason to play the game, but rather the result of playing the game.

Reflecting back on what I accomplished in 2008, I want to talk about the stuff that I did and what I could improve on in 2009. I have been making videos the entire year, but I only ended up with 4 finished videos. Why?

After playing through and beating Megaman 9, I browsed through all the achievements you can earn and thought, "Why the hell would I want to do these?" Naturally, you're gonna earn these achievements as you play the game. But once I get bored of the game, I'm moving on. I have other things to attend to and other games to play. I'm not sticking around to earn every single one of them, but some people do. What do I get if I play through the entire game without getting hit? An electronic checkmark by that achievement? A pat on the back? Bragging rights? Screw that.

Today, I would like to discuss something that is in many games, but rarely discussed amongst gamers in general. It's a gameplay concept that is hated by many people, arguing that it's not fun and degrades the overall gaming experience. Players refer to it as "rush", "rush tactics", "zerg rush", whatever. Call it whatever you want, a rush is basicly the concept of overtaking an opponent aggressively and before they are prepared.

Electronic Arts started out in 1982 as a publisher for computer games. As time went on, they began developing their own games in-house, moving onto game consoles, and by early 2000, they became one of the world's largest third-party developer and publisher. So... why do people hate it?

Zombie Panic: Source is an online survival horror game running under the Source engine. It plays out like the typical zombie movie; you're with a group of survivors scavenging for weapons, and barricading yourselves in order to survive the onslaught of zombies.

I find it to be very thorough. It shows both sides of the arguement from pro-gamers and professionals in the industry, and the video itself is produced very well. Personally, I lean heavily towards PC gaming but I do have a PS2, PS3, and Wii and play games on it when I find something I like.

I grew up playing video games in the early 90's. I had a NES and I played games like Super Mario Bros. 3, Legend of Zelda, Megaman 2, and Contra. I had a great time with it. I've also played PC games during this time as well. Games like Jetpack, Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, and Doom. I also has a SNES and Genesis as well, but as time went on, I kept being drawn towards the PC. Wanna know why I'm a PC gamer? Here's why...

This is a review of the Commander Keen series of games for the PC released by id Software between 1990 and 1991.
This review is a few months old, so the presentation and quality is lower than that of my more recent work. I am also aware that I pronounced "id Software" incorrectly. Nonetheless, I believe the review contains good information for those who are nostalgic or interested in the games.

There have been reviews of games, movies, and hardware, but I'll change it up a bit. This is a review of a business model that helped to bring forth awesome games like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, and built the wealth of several small companies and turn them into influential icons within the entire video game industry.
