See, I have this theory about New Year's Eve and how it affects the new year. If I have a crappy New Year's Eve I'll have a good year. If I have an awesome New Year's Eve I will have a crappy year.
For example: New Year's Eve 2005 was awesome. I had a great time at the party, got friendly with a super hottie, and welcomed the new year by hitting that. The year itself sucked ass.

For me, the holidays suck. I don't mean they suck as in I don't get what I want or I have to spend time with family, I mean they suck as in "Bad shit hits during the holidays." This, added with the stress the season brings out, puts me in a bad mood. While I do my best to hold it in there was something this year that sent me over the edge.

When 2008 began no one thought it would end like it has. We lost a great actor well before his time, the US elected its first black president, and the Wii sold 2 million consoles in one month! Now, with less than a week left, I've decided to look back at how I saw 2008 and point out some of the highlights, lowlights, and surprises.

Last night, during the VGA's, we saw many things. Some were awesome, like trailers for God of War 3, Uncharted 2, and Brutal Legend. Some were controversial, like GTA IV winning Game of the Year. Some were mind-boggling, like Kim "Thank God I was born in the modern age because I would have starved to death by now if I had to rely on myself for nourishment" Kardashian's comment about how Dante's Inferno was "A book...or something."

Well, to put it bluntly, its been a while since I wrote a blog here but I should point out its not because of laziness. I have a good reason for not being here, I swear!

**Editor's note: I'm trying out a new review system with this post. Each section will have a bold title and a "Final Word" where I summarize my thoughts. My hope is that this will lead to a review that flows better and is easier to read. Let me know what you think, please :) **
Like many Xbox 360 owners, I have been counting down the days to the release of the New Xbox Experience since the date was released. Prior to the launch date's release but after the E3 announcement, I was simply anticipating it.
NXE brings a lot to the Xbox 360 and, like features added in previous updates, most of the changes were long overdue. What do I think of the dashboard overhaul as a whole? Read on and find out!

"The big bang took and shook the world
Shot down the Rising Sun
The end had begun and it hit everyone
When the chain reaction was done
The big shots tried to hold it back
The fools tried to wish it away
The hopeful will depend on a world without end
Whatever the hopeless may say"

Yes, as crazy as it may sound before last week I had never played a plastic band game. Not Guitar Hero or Rock Band. The reason I jumped in was partially due to me coming into a large sum of disposable income (Price has always been an issue) and partially due to my desire to live out my rock fantasies without all that practicing, songwriting, drug and alcohol abuse, STD's, illegitimate children, and appearances on VH1's "Behind the Music." There's also the addition of Rush's "Moving Pictures" to Rock Band that helped nudge me in that direction.

Ahh, the Wii. The console with the funny name that's whooping its high-definition number-crunching counterpart's asses with its extraordinarily high sales numbers despite (or because of) its scarcity at retail. Each month when the NPD numbers are released, there's the Wii with its 300K+ sales. So, what is so freaking great about the Wii?

You've no doubt seen the videos on the web. One features rapper Souljaboy playing Braid, commenting that the game has no point. The other is Yahtzee's latest review where he trashes Bionic Commando: Rearmed and Castle Crashers then ends with a comment about how Twilight Princess and Super Mario Sunshine are better than Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64. No one wants to admit it but they do bring up good points.
