Trine

This is a 26 minute video of me playing the Trine singleplayer demo for anyone out there interested in seeing how the game looks like and works.

Microsoft Press Conference: My thoughts

So, another E3 behind us and it really was a big improvement over last years pretty lame event. It's even been confirmed that E3 is going to happen again in a year, probably in the current setup so it's obvious they got it right this time around.

Presenting Shii!

hehehe.

to any woman that watches this...please don't hurt me.

OnLive less revolutionary then they make it out to be?

Some say OnLive is the future, which I think is far from the truth. Even if this service were to get some ground, it's never really going to actually replace consoles and cutting edge PC hardware since there will still be games not available on the service.

Nintendo taking a different approach to game difficulty.

http://videogames.yahoo.com/feature/nintendo-planning-friendlier-approac...

So...apparently Nintendo are patenting something that will allow gamers to turn on and off a tutorial mode which will last throughout the game.

Now I can see where they are going with this. There are parts of games that can get frustrating but isn't this taking things a little far?

Birthdays

We all have them. We also all have fond memories of them.

My personal favorite from my childhood memory of one of my birthdays would have to be the time I got my Super Nintendo Entertainment System. I don't remember if I went all "NINTENDO SIXTY FOUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRR" or anything like that but I still remember how happy I was.

Duckhunt - Shoot the dog!

Like to share this video I ran across earlier today.

Those themes that just kept you coming back...

I'm sure we have all experienced those music themes while playing a videogame that you thought were so awesome that you actually wanted to play the game, not just because of if the gameplay or the story but because of the incredibly catchy music being played in the background.

I thought I'd share with you some of my personal favorites.

Starcraft - Terran music themes
Warcraft II - Human music themes
Earthworm Jim - New Junk City
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past - Castle theme
Starfox - Corneria
Doom - At Doom's Gate(Stage 1)
Unreal Tournament - Go Down

Underated game of the day

Looking for a game that never got the attention it deserved? Well you wouldn't have to look further then Metal Warriors on the SNES.

Developed by Lucasart and published by Konami and released back in 1995 only in the US. It was about as late is it could get as the Playstation launched only a few months later which I believe was one of biggest factor in why this game got overlooked.

I'm really surprised by this.

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect my blog post about Super Mario Bros to be such a big hit.

If I had known that it would hit the front page for Digg and become #4 on the top ten list with over 1600 diggs I would have put more effort into writing the post then I did.

I've been seeing a lot of posts over at digg commenting about lackluster writing on my part and that's fine by me. I've never considered myself a great writer.

Super Mario Bros had a deeper storyline?

I was digging through some of my old stuff and I happened to come across the original manual for my Super Mario Bros/Duckhunt which I thought had been lost through the passage of time. Surprisingly it's still in very good shape for it's age.

I started reading through it and it's actually a pretty good guide to how to play the game. I really wished I had given it a read back then. But I was only like 4 years old at the time and it was it the first game I ever got(had played some before that)

Then something caught my eyes, the storyline to Super Mario Bros.

Speaking of Uwe Boll.

While not a videogame movie(yay?)

Uwe Boll is working on six new movies at the moment all of which are doomed to suck.

One of the movies he's working on is called "The science of Cool".

The basic concept is that two geek's experiment goes wrong and somehow this turns the geeks into superstuds which I guess will mean a lot weird, stupid and awkward situations.

Now, while being geeky usually doesn't equal coolness. I fail to see how being like fabio here

Home is where your A** is.

Home on the PS3 has finally reached Open beta Stage!

I logged in on it on Friday. Only to be greeted by timeouts. So after a few more attempts I finally got in. Then a message pops up, where Sony says they are aware of the issues people are having with connecting and they say it's due the heavy stress on the server.

So after that, I get into the character customization thingimajig.

It's not that bad, you get a decent variation of body type, face type and clothes, hair etc. You can even change your height, and appearance with sliders.

So anyway, I make my character.

Capcom are looking for faces from gamers to appear in Street Fighter IV

The bloggers over at Capcom-Unity the official Capcom blog managed through evil scheming and using some sorts of hallucinogenic chemical for evilness to convince Street Fighter IV producer Ono-san that it was a good idea to put together a contest.

The contest will allow a few ‘lucky’ gamers to have their faces added in the background at stages in Street Fighter IV.

Grand Theft Auto IV Review.

Lets start with the basics in case that someone out there has never seen or played GTA. Grand Theft Auto belongs to the Sandbox genre of games, meaning that it consist of a vast world you can explore and with in it you can do pretty much anything you want or go anywhere you want.

Now for this reason the game is a focus of a lot of controversy. Being made for adults you can visit strip joints, pick up hookers and pay them for sex and then you can even kill the hooker and take your money back to name but two examples of what makes this game controversial.

Nintendo Power Rap

Thought I'd share this pretty silly video I ran into a while ago.

Things are odd in Oddworld.

things-are-odd-in-oddworld

So, it seems that a new Oddworld “stuff” is being worked on as Lorne Lanning the head of the Oddworld Inhabitants studio has confirmed. As of yet they haven’t released anything about the plot or setting of the “stuff” probably because it’s at an early stage at this time. There is speculation that it will be episodic content but at this point we are just gonna have to wait and see.
