The Game Industry Hardly Acknowledges Developers at All!

If you look at Hollywood movies today, it's easy to find out who was in charge of a movie. Everybody knows who George Lucas is. Everybody knows who Quentin Tarantino is. Many movies even have the director's name in the title.

Non-violent Co-op Games

My sister is coming home for the holidays and she doesn't like to get beaten in video games. I've found that the best way to get around this is to play co-op games. The only problem is that she doesn't like violent games. I've compiled a list of suitable games from this and last generation to play, but I feel that there aren't enough choices. Do you G1s know any good ones?

Current list:

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Guitar Hero II, III, World Tour

Rock Band 1 + 2

Lego Star Wars/ Indiana Jones/ Batman

Adventures of Cookie and Cream

We (Heart) Katamari + Beautiful Katamari

Reggie Fils-Aime Would be the Worst Politician EVER

"By now, you all know how Nintendo chose a fundamentally different path," said Fils-Aime. "Instead of competing for the very best players, we decided to shoot for the most players."

So basically, rather than making games for people who care about games, Nintendo wants to make games for the masses; people who don't care about games. I understand this money-making concept, but being a long-time Nintendo fan, this really hurts. He said many times before that he's not forgetting the core-gamers. This means that he outright LIED to us.

Games I've Beaten (UPDATED!)

Well, I've finally done it. I've passed 250 games beaten. I'm one quarter of the way there to be part of the 1000 club. Wait, is there such thing as a 1000 club? If there isn't, then I should make it when I beat 749 more games. Anyway, here's my updated list.

NES:
• Duck Hunt*
• Kirby's Adventure
• The Legend of Zelda±
• Mega Man 2
• Mega Man 3
• Mega Man 4
• Mega Man 5
• Mega Man 6
• Q*Bert*
• Super Dodge Ball*
• Super Mario Bros. 3

Genesis:
• Sonic the Hedgehog
• Sonic the Hedgehog 2
• Sonic Spinball

SNES:
• Chrono Trigger±

My Ideas for the Next Generation

With just a couple years left of this gaming generation (still called "next gen"), I'd like to cite a few things that the next consoles have to do in order to keep things fresh. I think we've seen basically all we need of good graphics. That needs no improving. Here's the list of my top 3 hopes for the next gen consoles.

1. Complete Backward Compatibility

I Got Little Big Planet Early!

I was in NYC today to go to my favorite shop; Videogamesnewyork. I was aiming to buy Rhythm Tengoku. Alas, there was no Rhythm Tengoku. All they had was Rhythm Tengoku Gold. Oh yeah, they also had LITTLEBIGPLANET. Videogamesnewyork is famous in the area for breaking street dates on every game they can. I considered not buying it because I have a pre-order at GameStop, but what the hey. I'll give that one to my friend. Besides, this one is the rare, supposed to be unreleased version that has words from the Qur'an in it. I'm betting this'll be a collector's item someday.

Little Big Planet Beta

Okay, so I was really excited when I got into the Little Big Planet Beta yesterday. I popped it in, had tons of fun on the four Media Molecule levels, then moved onto user-created levels. The most popular ones were pretty cool, but I soon ran out of those. i hoped that there were some jewels among the less-played and undiscovered ones. No such luck. Almost all of the user-generated content in the game so far isn't very thought out.

The Nintendo Press Confrence: Are You Excited?

I'm twitching with anticipation here. I know I shouldn't get excited for Nintendo announcements because lately they've been all crap. But man, with all of the rumors about the DS2 and nothing big announced yet for 2009, I'm on the edge of my seat. What's wrong with me? Are you excited for this too?
