If you haven't heard, there is a bad ass project in the works for any Mega Man fan- a movie! While not an "official" flick you can bet your ass that it will probably be better than any multimillion dollar budget can produce. It just so happens that the director, Eddie Lebron, is also a g1 and wanted to share the first ever clip of the movie with our community. SWEET! Digg it and help spread the word about this incredibly awesome fan movie!

Did a slow part of the movie have to be used? To be honest, that didn't really get me excited. The only thing in that clip that came close to Megaman was the Bubbleman music, and that seemed inappropriate for the scene. I guess there's still a lot of work to be done on the movie.
People, it's called an origin story; it doesn't necessarily have to blow your minds. Secondly, the video was less than two minutes long, so how you managed to achieve boredom is beyond me. For your sakes, I hope the next video is filled with over-the-top explosions. Otherwise, I don't think your 8-year old attention spans will last that long.

For a fan film, it looks really good. Alot of production value went into it.
I'd love a chance to interview the creators closer to the completion date.
Still, looks awesome, really hope they keep the same tone throughout the project

Although I'm a huge fan of the Mega Man series, I wouldn't ever want to see an attempt at a live action interpretation of the blue bomber's saga. The cheesy, yet somehow still enduring 90's Saturday morning cartoon take on Mega Man is good enough for me when it comes to trying to push the robotic boy wonder into another media format. Plus, let's face it -- there isn't a whole lot of depth in the Mega Man storyline to play around with, primarily because the characters in the Mega Man universe are not particularly as well fleshed out as, say, the characters of the Zelda, Metroid, or MGS series. The Mega Man X chapter came the closest to finding a way to get gamers to actually care about the main cast to a certain extent, but again, it too really has no comparison to the aforementioned series in having the potential to make two decent hours of viewing pleasure.
Submitted by MustEnjoyPie on Sun, 06/29/2008 - 2:08pm.
I personally agree 100% with you. With any movie lots of movie directors take their own personal twists on the storyline, or how a game to movie storyline would work.
Best example would be Super Mario Bros. The Movie,
Even Megaman had a little bit more story then Super Mario Bros, but the movie took so many 'poetic licenses' that it was one of the most horrible movies known to man. Same goes with Street Fighter.
There are just certain games that you can't make movies of because people except way too much out of it, and this movie is unfortunately one of them.
I can tell he's a good director because the actors were wonderful!, but it's just not possible to do a Megaman movie without screwing it up somehow.
I'm glad people still speak up on this site when they don't like something ScrewAttack says is awesome, without being afraid of getting flamed.
Thanks BlueBomber! =] I really respect that.
Definitely looks promising so far, even for a teaser. Acting is very well done, and everyone feels comfy with their roles. (even Roll looked so hyper with energy!)
Hope we'll see more soon.
Oke. It looks pretty interesting. I really would want to see some more. My only complain is that the clip just stopped on a random point. I think it would end stronger if the clip ended after the quote "And now; on to the main atrraction."
PS.
The girl was kinda cute. Only her voice is a bit ...(-shiver-)... weird.
Why is she Japanese? Usually, Roll has big eyes and braided blonde hair. Though this Roll has the blonde hair, it's like neck length. This movie looks good as a whole, though. Not gonna let one little qualm get me down.

There wasn't much of it that had to do with megaman, but this is wat i found.
1. Dr. Wily was the one snickering in the background
2. Dr. Light was the one talking about the teleporter
3. He said the teleporter was tested on robots which would explain why megaman is always teleported to each level

Okay, I'm going to analyse this movie clip and give my opinion of everything I might see. Also, if I'm being a jerk, you may disregard what I say because I'm not trying to be one :D
Roll: They designed the outfit and hair quite nice. You can easily see: "Hey, it's Roll." There's just something with her voice, it's a bit sharp, but I'm guessing it's just this one line. Also, that expression while she's watching the crew is great.
Wily: Wily's not gray enough, but that's fine. Nobody'd want to act someone who looks like Dark Einstein. Anyway, his face the entire time, you could easily see that he was jealous of Light-o, and by turning his head and all those other facial changes, you could see that he was basically criticizing every sentence, one by one. Also, I loved his pissed-off walk at the end of the clip.
Light: Dr. Light sounded a little soft compared to the other people, but his calm voice and overall look was basically exactly what you'd expect from a real-life Dr. Light.
Camera crew: The reporter did an awesome job doing the fake faces in front of the camera all the time, just like a real reporter would do. Also, the reporter tugging the camera wire to make the camera guy hurry up was a nice little touch.
So yeah, that's my opinion. Tried to be as unbiased as possible.

I think the reason Mega Man wasn't on it was 1) Mega Man is "made" a combat robot after Willy starts to take over the world with the other 6 robot masters, so in there Willy is still working with Light which means no Mega Man yet. Maybe rock was slacking somewhere...
... wow. I really don't know what to say. Obviously you can't judge an entire movie on one clip but the acting, the lines, the pacing the lighting... ugh. I don't know if all these things were purposefully done wrong but that wouldn't be a very good decision. Anyways, much luck on the project. Step your game up.

Too vague to be sure yet...
But it looks promising!
'course, so did "Hero Of Time" and that was supposed to come out 2 years ago.
I hope that this DOES materialize however, it's a very intruiging idea.
Weird..
The only thing related to MegaMan in the trailer was the music near the end.
But it looks so professional for a Fan Film. Actors from all ages, different regions? Looks more like an Indy Film, and thats a nice thing :)
