The only DLC gripes I've had that aren't on the list are Ones with a time limit before they are pulled (e.g. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2) and ones that are either console-specific or for technical reasons aren't available on all consoles (e.g. Skyrim).
I borrowed Saints Row 3 from my bro, I couldn't play online without paying 10 dollars... I'm pretty sure many other people have similar situations like this, its not just people who buy used games. (I say that because I never buy used games, but I still ran into this issue. Side note: people say I sound condescending, that's 100% unintentional, sorry.)
The worst part is not knowing if an online pass is required, buying the game used, then spending even more money. Here's to only buying new games, I guess.
The online pass, a cancer in the industry that will only get worse. How long before the diablo 3 "can only play while online" system moves to consoles.
We live in a world that limits the liberty of the buy-sell-trade system that existed in every realm of commerce until now. We live in a world that alienates gamers who dont have internet connections, and who live in bad economic circumstances. You call it compensation but EA who devised the online pass disagrees, they say its so "we can provide better online services for people who play our games" Oh wait, they dont provide any online services at all, unless you count Origin on the PC, and if you want to fund software that has been proven to spy on your computer then go ahead.
I agree. I just got MK9 (pre-owned) and it had everything on the inside, including the online pass-code, but someone already used it, so now I have to waste 10 more dollars just so I can play online.

Out of curiosity, how much is a general Online Pass in the US? In the UK it's £7.99 ($12.81!!!!!)

Find this to be almost as bad as on-disc DLC mainly because of how its leading most developers to cram in multiplayer just so they can sell passes.
King Meatball I
About $10.

Yet that is not the worst thing EA has ever done.

A digital manifestation of greed.

Wanting compensation for something you worked your ass off making is called greed?
What world do we live in now?

Without even looking at the others yet, this to me is the worst of the bunch.
