Somehow it was the idea that all your supposed "Important choices" came up to which color do you want to watch the explosions in. If you say it like that to someone who hasn't really played the game, then it can be understandable as to why people are going to take this and just run wild with it.
Lets be honest, were we all really expecting an ending that tied up ALL loose ends? Thats almost impossible to do in a game series as colossal as Mass Effect. The endings arn't perfect, but their better than what I thought would happen.
Couldn't agree more. If the Extended Cut ending was the original ending, then the whole uproar wouldn't have been nearly as ridiculous. I hate the original ending as much as the next g1, but I think the whole controversy was blown way out of proportion. Besides, as far as I'm concerned, whether or not you like the Extended Cut ending, you gotta respect Bioware for taking the time to expand upon the ending because let's face it, there really isn't a lot of video game companies that would do something like that.
I'm still a little pissed that the war assets did not really add to anything. I wish all that crap of, should I screw one race for another's resources actually showed consequences. Plus that star kid was way out of left field. I know its been said a lot, but it is still true. Up until we get to that point, I was with the ending. i thought that the assets would attribute to how well the crucible held up. If it was little to none, the reapers blew that up or it does not work. Medium resources show it does work as well as it could have or does something else. the best resources get the job done.
Still it does show games have gone far enough to invoke this clear of a response from the gamers. For a while you would not think a franchise could do that.
Oh god, don't remind me. Even after the extended cut dlc the endings are still awful. None of them make any logical sense within the established lore of the series.
Not so much rewrite as it did further flesh it out in the case of ME3. Now the expansion packs for the original FEAR game in comparison to FEAR 2 & 3, certainly.
Glad to know that I'm not the only one who thinks that ME3's ending didn't ruin ME3 itself. If bad endings made a bad game, then Final Fantasy VII should've been universally panned.
Yeah, me neither. The thing that really griped me was everyone giving the game 1 out of 10 for a few seconds of their disappointment. If you said to them "but...how was the first 90%" most friends responded REALLY GREAT! Ludicrous....

How do you always get things right the first time? C'mon man the DLC was free.

lol this! I don't think I've ever seen something as ridiculous in the world of gaming like the ME3 ending rage. Just.....no words can describe it.

Am I one of the only people who liked the original ending?
some_other_guy
No I liked it too...just got blown out of proportion.

I don't see the point why people were fully upset, like sure they did pull a cheap ending, but not at all did it ruined the game as a whole.

I know, what's even more of a damn shame is that because of this fit, Bioware lost two of its greatest people over it.
