Everyone remembers Contra as being hard. But you know what? It isn't. Seriously, go back and play Contra. Beating it without continuing really isn't that difficult to do. Contra is what defines challenge on the NES. The more you play, the more you expect, the better you get, and then you win. Plus it was the first game that everybody knew the cheat code for.
None, really. Besides, eBay, Amazon, or a local old-school gaming store is your friend. You just owe it to yourself to give it a solid effort to play and beat.
How many points do I lose by admitting I've never beaten this and, in fact, never owned it?
Favored Super C more than Contra but the original is still a great game.
Beat it when I played for the first time two weeks back. Only took us 117 lives.
