I've always wondered how people did to travel with paperback books on their bags without making them like that,no matter how much I try,my school books always end up like this.
Paperbacks are amazing. I take really good care of my books, and they last forever. However, if I see a paperback that has been worn out, especially on the spine, it tells me that book is well-loved and has been read many times. It's also time to buy a new copy.
Well, I like them because I take good care of them. It's all in the way you treat things. Comics are paperback too & I treat them very well just like any other book.
Paperbacks are easier and more comfortable to read depending on size of the book though and they're cheaper. If you want it to last longer in good shape, you could always cover it with clear contact paper.
Lol, If you think paper back is crap, try a 3 hole punch text book! You pay 300 bucks for a big ass calc 5 book, and once I open the book to the appropriate page, and boom it rips the whole page out, now you can't resell it when your done with course. So I just payed $300 bucks only to get pages ripped from the book, every time I want to go mid way int the book, plus don't even get me started on how long it takes to turn a page carefully -_-.
This section is kind of awkward. I need to write some interesting, but not bore you with my life story. Let's "get down to brass tacks", we all like video games. If you are down to play, feel free to hit me up online on any of my gaming networks. Oh and follow me on twitter for random musings. Besides that I guess the broad strokes include me being married, having an MBA, and owning a dog named Odie!

For a second I thought you were going to say you hate Neil Gaiman. I would have had to punch straight through someone's forehead.

Which is why I buy hardcovers

Lovely book they picked. I always took care of my paper backed books and never tore them up like that. Hell I wouldn't even break the spines.

on thin books, like comic books, paperback is awesome. on thick books hardcover is always better

I love paperbacks, even though I don't treat them well I really like being able to take them along with me. Far easier to recycle, too.

Only on thick books, paperback is okay with thin books

Correction: Paperbacks suck on thick books. They aren't as bad on thinner books.

They are a lot cheaper though

Depends on the book and how you treat it, but I'd agree that hardbacks are usually better.

Nah, cheaper and lighter book sounds good to me.

Terry Pratchett. One of my friends was recommending that I read his Discworld series. He said it was similar to Hitchhiker's Guide.

And this is why I do not like renting most of my textbooks.

Good luck trying to read one of those without creases.
