Their pupils disappear in action scenes. Cool.
It's like the face masks in the two recent transformers cartoons and megaman nt warrior.
No pupils= shit is about to go down
Rage mode activate.
Once their pupils turn white you know it's time for ninja mode.
I'm just saying this, and don't know, but is this a throwback to the black-and-white comics that the Turtles started in? From what I recall seeing on those, they didn't have the pupils then either. Could be wrong though, it's been a long time.
I like it. It gives more emotion to the scenes where they're not fighting, and doing anything but fighting, whereas when they're fighting, it feels like the emotion isn't necessarily what's being shown, so the eyes aren't necessary. Also, it's quite obviously easier for them to animate the fights without having to worry about adding in all the eye movements as well.
Or both seeing as the 2k3 series was the closest adaptation to the Comic ever.
It's almost like they're saying, "Badass mode, activate!"
I think it works really well. This show obviously isn't grounded in any sort of artistic realism, so they can get away with doing something really stylized like this.
That just seems kinda weird. I would say, stay with either one and don't use both.
I think it's just weird
It seems kind of incosistent, but cool none the less.
Either a tribute to the Mirage comics or a tribute to the 2003 series.
A possible tribute to the original Mirage comics.
