Look how social we are.
From a nostalgia standpoint yes it is weird seeing him have something other than just nunchaku. But from an efficiency standpoint I think it allows him to be more versatile as a member of the team, so Im ok with that.
Those are not Nunchaku they are Kusarigama and I think that they are cool
I actually hated this change, for no other reason than nostalgia. I loved when mikey just had nunchucks, I even managed to get my own pair. It just felt so awesome to see him taking baddies down without a bladed weapon, but when they had this, I was like "Aw man...Why!?" It's a personal gripe, yes, but that's the only one i have about him.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kusarigama for those of you that have never seen them before. Also here's a vid of one being used during a demonstration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPdEgw_WBZs
may i just say that due to these new photos, DeathBattle may have problems with this.
I smell......... reshoot!
Swords chucks, fuck yes I knew Fighter would get his ideas out there one day!
No not sword chucks, scythe-chucks...or chainsickles
No its bad bcuz now he can't actually hit any1 -____- Mich is like a lil kid. Yet he has teh most dangerous and difficult weapon. I'm not believing it anymore. Yeah sure he can attack with the part thats not the blade. But any1 thats ever used Nun-chucks know...
Mikey has always been the most immature but the most naturally skilled. While he lacks focus, his pure physical talents coupled with impulsive nature have made him the perfect candidate for nunchucks. You'll see this as the series goes on. While Raph might be the best fighter, Leo the most disciplined, and Donnie the smartest, Mikey is purely the most athletic. He's actually the only one of the group that could handle the Kusarigama.
Also, I love the addition of authentic ninjutsu weapons such as Mikey's Kusarigama and Donnie's naginata bo staff.
A Michelangelo buff was long overdue.
Yeah they buffed him!
Cool I guess.
I love this change...but the Mikey I know wouldn't have lived to 15 if he had this weapon, the knucklehead. lol
Also, I wish they would have kept Don with the Naginata, since he's my favorite turtle and that's my favorite weapon of all time.
I think it's planned that Donnie later 'figures out' that he can convert his staff into a naginata.
They already show naginatas in the background hanging up in the dojo.
They were going to out-right change Mikey's nunchucks to a kusarigama (that thing in the picture), and Donnie's bo staff to a naginata (stick with blade on the end), but decided to just change them back. It's nice that they actually kept at least one of them in the show (I'm still hoping that Donatello's bo staff has a hidden blade in it - it IS a possibility), and the toys all have them, so that's a bonus.
I pretty much did a spit take when I saw this for the first time.
Vigoorian Flail! :D
This in my opinion was a much needed upgrade.
Then they aren't nunchucks, they are flails.
making them FAR LESS useless.
oh no, there much more effective weapon.
Someone will die.
Well its at least better then the earlier preview of the show where Donatello would have a spear blade pop out of his staff.
Technically, those would be called "Kamas", but a kama doesn't have a chain holding two together. So, it is some sort of super awesome hybrid between the two.
They are called kusari-gama.
And yet he's still the weakest of the turtles. But we love him anyways.
He's not the weakest. He's the least focused, but the most athletic. He's the quickest and has the best taijutsu of the group. When he summons up his focus, he could rival even Raph in the group. But he mostly just wants to eat some pizza. I think as time goes on in this series, Splinter will develop Mikey and he will appear to be much tougher than he does now.
