From a nostalgia standpoint yes it is weird seeing him have something other than just nunchaku. But from an efficiency standpoint I think it allows him to be more versatile as a member of the team, so Im ok with that.

Those are not Nunchaku they are Kusarigama and I think that they are cool

I actually hated this change, for no other reason than nostalgia. I loved when mikey just had nunchucks, I even managed to get my own pair. It just felt so awesome to see him taking baddies down without a bladed weapon, but when they had this, I was like "Aw man...Why!?" It's a personal gripe, yes, but that's the only one i have about him.

No its bad bcuz now he can't actually hit any1 -____- Mich is like a lil kid. Yet he has teh most dangerous and difficult weapon. I'm not believing it anymore. Yeah sure he can attack with the part thats not the blade. But any1 thats ever used Nun-chucks know...

I love this change...but the Mikey I know wouldn't have lived to 15 if he had this weapon, the knucklehead. lol

Also, I wish they would have kept Don with the Naginata, since he's my favorite turtle and that's my favorite weapon of all time.

They were going to out-right change Mikey's nunchucks to a kusarigama (that thing in the picture), and Donnie's bo staff to a naginata (stick with blade on the end), but decided to just change them back. It's nice that they actually kept at least one of them in the show (I'm still hoping that Donatello's bo staff has a hidden blade in it - it IS a possibility), and the toys all have them, so that's a bonus.

I pretty much did a spit take when I saw this for the first time.

Well its at least better then the earlier preview of the show where Donatello would have a spear blade pop out of his staff.

Technically, those would be called "Kamas", but a kama doesn't have a chain holding two together. So, it is some sort of super awesome hybrid between the two.

And yet he's still the weakest of the turtles. But we love him anyways.
