Activision will support the Wii U
Eric Hirshberg stated that the company, Activision, will also support the Wii U and may put Black Ops 2 on Nintendo's new console. Acivision is one of the biggest publishers on the video game industry and this will definitly help the Wii U.
Eric also said that Call of Duty Elite will be used not only on the Wii U, but also on Xbox 360's SmartGlass.
So Nintendo is getting a huge support from them, is this enough to make you convince to believe the Wii U will be successful or do we just need another company like Valve?

I'm not convinced that there is major 3rd party support for Wii U until Valve or Bethesda or someone who hasn't done a 3rd party on Nintendo makes a game for it.
King Meatball I
Activision did a decent job supporting the Wii so its not a huge shock. I think the Wii versions of CoD games were able to generate about an extra million sales each year even though they were barely advertised.

Now if only they would mention Fall of Cybertron for the WiiU....

I'd actually get Blops 2 if it gets released on the Wii U

They will have no problem supporting the Wii U with Black Ops 2. The question is will the WiiU be able to run the Xbox 720/PS4 COD which comes out the year after that and the year after that and the year after that and the year after that and the year after that and the year after that and the year after that.

People are thinking that the downgrade from the PS4 and 720 (whatever it'll be called) to the Wii U will be as severe as the PS3 and 360 to the Wii. Even if Sony and Microsoft's next consoles are more powerful, the Wii U is still capable of putting out 1080p so it should be fine, and I think sacrificing a little bit of graphics wouldn't be a deal breaker for most. I mean look at The Witcher 2: Assassin's Creed, it's a visually stunning game that made use of the PC's power and it didn't lose much of it's graphics when ported to the 360.

Well there is more to it than graphics though. You have to think about all the other things. Voice chat software, the console OS, the game engine itself (not graphics but logic), any special stuff - like the Wii tablet which apparently kills CPU time. It's a juggling act and I doubt most 3rd party devs are going to chop their games down to that level once they get their hands on the 720/PS4.

From all the rumors surrounding Orbis and especially Durango, I'm sure those systems will have quite a few unique features. It already obvious that Microsoft just doesn't want to do a more powerful console, they're trying to make this upcoming console also distinguishable and unique so we'll see how developers also react to that. Worst case senerio? Mutliplatform games will lessen due to 3 extremely different consoles being on the market.
