AMC takes another stab at a Walking Dead game

AMC’s The Walking Dead is one of my personal favorite on-going television shows; Telltale’s The Walking Dead is one of my favorite on-going videogame series. Unfortunately, bringing the show’s characters and plot into videogame territory has proven unsuccessful as of yet, but that doesn’t mean all hope is lost, as another attempt was recently announced.

Slated for smartphones and tablets, the currently untitled game will likely focus and include the events and characters from the successful television series and be free-to-play considering the developer’s focus. Speaking of the developer, Finnish Studio – Next Games – will take the reigns this time around, as they promise to retain the show’s “against-all-odds action and moment-to-moment tension,” yet further details will be discussed on a later date.

As of now, fans can expect to title to drop alongside the show’s upcoming fifth season, so roughly around the fall to holiday season window. Hopefully, however, the finished product won’t be rushed or at least feel rushed this time around in order to likely meet AMC’s deadline.

But what do you think, g1s? Will this be a step in the right direction for putting the show in gamers’ hands? Or should AMC just stick to focusing one thing with the franchise? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments below!
