Another familiar face can join your ranks in Fire Emblem: Awakening via a new DLC map

2/24/13 1:40pm

Fire Emblem fans who’ve recently completed Awakening on the 3DS have been given another piece of DLC to draw them back into the game.

The "Lost Bloodlines 1" map pits series favorites Marth and Seliph against one an another in an all-out war and if you manage to successfully led Marth’s forces to victory, you’ll be able to enlist Leif (Fire Emblem: Thracia 776) into your party.

This new map is available for download right now for $3, although you can buy it as part of a bundle (which will include the two remaining "Lost Bloodline" maps as they become available) for only $6.

Considering how solid Awakening is, it’s great that Nintendo is continuing to support the game with new maps and being able to enlist even more soldiers to your ranks is always helpful, especially if happen to be a traditionalist.

The DLC from what I can tell really isn't worth it. All the characters are/will eventually be available for free via Spot pass (In fact so far FE 7, 8, 9 and 10 characters have been released so far) The only advantages to the DLC otherwise are some of the interesting fanfic style stories and a few unique items and classes that can be accessed through it

The Spotpass models don't really look like the characters they're supposed to be, while the paid models do. The paid models also have better stats and character portraits.

Great! I plan on getting all DLC! Too bad Thracia was never released outside of Japan though. Maybe all this and Awakening's positive reviews will persuade Nintendo to release its previous games outside of Japan?...Probably not.

That is true, or some of the somewhat sexual innuendos. Never saw that in a Fire Emblem game either!
