Valve fans were “surprised” earlier today when they discovered a Steam Store page for Half-Life 2: Episode 3, which sported the “totally legit” screenshots and achievements that were “leaked” last year and the too good to be true release date of October 10, 2013, along a pre-order option.
Was this official confirmation that the long awaited game was finally coming?
It turns out this was just an elaborate April Fools joke, which surprisingly wasn’t set up by (master troll) Gaben and company. Instead, this fake page was set up by the folks over at Cheap Shark
, as an advertisement for their bargain hunting website, as clicking on just about everything on this “Steam page” will take you there.
You may have noticed that I wrote this post with more of a straight-face than I did the other April Fools posts, well that’s because when you see the words Half-Life followed by the number three, you just know there’s a punchline in there somewhere.
