Arc System Works' BloodRayne game is...a Japanese release of BloodRayne: Betrayal
One week after it started ticking, the countdown clock for the reveal of Arc System Works' BloodRayne project has reached zero. Turns out, it's not an Arc System Works developed game, in fact, it's not even a new game at all. Gamers here in the West have been able to play it through XBLA and PSN since 2011.
As initially reported by NeoGAF user Levito, BRCS stands for BloodRayne: Crimson Slayer, which will be a PS3 exclusive Japanese localization of the WayForward developed BloodRayne: Betrayal.
In all honesty, I admit this announcement disappointing. It would have been cool to see the ASW team put its own unique, flashy, and over-the-top spin on the BloodRayne franchise, but it's good for WayForward to get its game out there to more players and it's good for the Japanese fans who missed this 2D franchise entry.
BloodRayne: Crimson Slayer will be released digitally via Japan's PSN Store on May 1.
