Batman : Assault on Arkham releases this summer
Warner Bros. Animations’ Batman: Assault on Arkham is slated to release Aug. 12 for Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD/Ultraviolet.
The animated feature is a direct sequel to Batman: Arkham Origins and showcases the formation of the Suicide Squad. The infamous government-controlled supervillain team was teased at the end of Arkham Origins when Deathstroke was given the option to sign up with the Department of Justice or remain in prison.
According to Game Informer, the Suicide Squad’s first mission is to obtain classified documents held by The Riddler. The mission turns into a disaster when Squad member Harley Quinn releases the Joker from captivity, and the ensuing chaos alerts Batman.
Kevin Conroy returned to voice Batman and Troy Baker voiced The Joker. Jay Olivia and Ethan Spaulding directed the film, and Heath Corson wrote it.
One great reason to get the Blu-ray version is the exclusive bonus Arkham Analyzed: The Secrets Behind the Asylum. The bonus is a documentary that outlines the asylum’s history. Both versions offer the The Joker’s Queen: Harley Quinn, a bonus that looks into the relationship between Quinn and the Joker.
The animated feature will be available in individual formats. The Blu-ray version will come with DVD and digital HD/Ultraviolet formats as well, according to Amazon.
