Battle Kid 2 demo is a FREE iPhone app
So recently BK2's demo got ported into an iPhone app. I didn't make this and I unfortunately do not have a means to play this, but I'm just curious what others think. I haven't ever tried playing a touch screen platformer before.
Remember, this is the demo and not the full game. Therefore it's FREEEEEE. :)
Dang....wish I had an Iphone for that one moment.
Great stuff I couldn't play it sideways since I already suck at the iphone games where the buttons cover the game.
I'm glad the game isn't coming to iOS. It should never leave the NES.
I don't have any Bluetooth controllers that'd work, but yeah, I'm sure you would have made it much better if it was designed for iOS. I mean, touch screen controllers for platformers just don't work well, anyway. No worries - I'll be buying a copy for my NES once it's available. Ironically, it's slightly easier for me, because I have a PAL NES which slows the game down ever-so-slightly (and butchers the music. Thanks, Nintendo).
Yeah. If the game was designed for this platform specifically, things would have been done differently. It was just a test. Supposedly, some people are pretty good with the touch screen controls and others have Bluetooth (I think that's what it was) controllers too.
Oh, okay. Fair enough then. Just let one of the guys know and I'm sure they'll fix it for you.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Battle Kid 2. I still need to finish the first one. They're great (but very hard) games! That iPhone demo is so painful, though. My thumb blocks almost half the screen. It's still a great game, though. Thanks, Sivak!
Huh. Yeah, it was fine when I posted it. I can't edit my post since it was featured either...
Link is broken. Should be: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/battle-kid-2-lite/id546423050
Downloaded it and as someone who has never played battle kid before, I really enjoyed it. The touch controls can be a pain though as others have stated.
Damn, I have a Droid.
I downloaded it a little bit ago and the touch screen controls really screw you over. It's so different from the good old D-pad.
Hey Sivak I've been meaning to ask. How long have you been in Japan for? Or do you actually live there?
There isn't an official one, there are a handful of 3rd party ones but they have to be specifically programmed into each game for the controller to work. This is why I am interested in the Microsoft Surface, because every version of Windows since Vista has had native supported for the wired 360 controller so it would be easy to infer that the Windows 8 driven Surface would have native support as well (and it has standard USB ports on it). If this is the case mobile gaming on tablets just got a whole lot more interesting...
I am dying as I type this.
Yeah, I kinda figured it would be kind of hard to play. The phone I got here in Japan actually has Rockman 1 on it and I couldn't get far in Cut Man's stage... Although I wonder if there controllers for the iPhones...
It's impossible to beat with touch controls :(
