Bethesda Announces Doom 3 BFG Edition
DOOM is gonna get an HD overhaul! And you get the previous Doom games as an added bonus!
Editor's Note: Don't forget that if you hated the flashlight in Doom 3, Bethesda has the cure. An armor-mounted flashlight will be available in this version as well. Monsters aren't so scary now that you can hold a gun and see them at the same time.
Bethesda has recently announced that Doom 3 will be getting a re-mastered treatment for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC; known as Doom 3: BFG Edition. This game will include the following:
- Doom 1
- Doom 2
- Doom 3 and the expansion Resurrection of Evil
- The Lost Mission
As an added bonus for gamers who plan on getting the PS3 version, it's likely you will be able to enjoy Doom 3 in 3D. There has yet to be a release date, but it is safe to assume that it will come out this year.

Nice! I only played Doom 1 briefly so getting all Doom games would be awesome for me. I will get this, maybe not on release date but I am certainly get it!

Steam sells the DOOM bundle (every DOOM game on PC) for if I remember right 20$.

As someone who has never played Doom before, is a good idea for me to buy this? It seems like a great deal, but I have no preference whatsoever on it. Can someone recommend it?

If you haven't, you can always try the original Doom and all it's glory on Steam. Shouldn't be too expensive

I loved doom3, but I'm not sure about a re-release. The original pc game is a little dated, but it still looks pretty good today. Not really sure if an "HD" facelift will really look all that different.

What I'm wondering is... Do current Doom 3 owners get anything, because i have my copy on steam and I don't want my copy to be a waste when this better version comes out.
