Bethesda Announces Doom 3 BFG Edition

tl;dr

DOOM is gonna get an HD overhaul! And you get the previous Doom games as an added bonus!

Editor's Note: Don't forget that if you hated the flashlight in Doom 3, Bethesda has the cure. An armor-mounted flashlight will be available in this version as well. Monsters aren't so scary now that you can hold a gun and see them at the same time.

Bethesda has recently announced that Doom 3 will be getting a re-mastered treatment for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC; known as Doom 3: BFG Edition. This game will include the following:

Doom 1
Doom 2
Doom 3 and the expansion Resurrection of Evil
The Lost Mission

As an added bonus for gamers who plan on getting the PS3 version, it's likely you will be able to enjoy Doom 3 in 3D. There has yet to be a release date, but it is safe to assume that it will come out this year.

Um... Doom 3 was ALREADY in HD. And their So Called HD Remaster aint got SHIT on Sikkmod...

I think the video you posted makes the game look too fake. I prefer what I saw in bethesda's trailer.

I saw that after I posted the article. Pretty impressed, though it's nice to at least see it improve on consoles.

For one reason or other, Doom 3 never interested me (I admit I've never tried it either) and everytime I see the game mentioned, I can't help but think of a certain "Can't see shit!" picture that's been floating on the net.

But if the first two Doom games are retouched in any way, then I'm listening.
