Biden says more research should be done regarding video game and real life violence
Earlier today the Vice President addressed Americans' questions about gun violence directly in a Google Hangout, and one man asked him about his opinion on the connection between video games and violence.
In his answer, much to the relief of gamers, he says that more serious research needs to be done regarding the connection between video game violence and real life violence. He had a statistic from the American Academy of Pediatrics, which ran a study that found that children who watch three to six hours of violent video games become more aggressive. The VP noted, however, that the study did not connect aggression to violence, and that organizations such as the CDC should commit to more in-depth research to find more definitive answers.
Will this bring some of the heat off video games? Is this the start of a more enlightened era regarding our favorite hobby? Let us know what you think in the comments!
