Black Mesa will finally be available later this month
Earlier today, the official website for Black Mesa, the highly anticipated fan-developed, HD, Source powered remake of the original Half-Life launched a countdown clock, which is set to go off on September 14. When the clock reaches zero, the game will be released after seven long years in development!
Unfortunately, the mod’s initial release will not contain the final chapters in Xen or multiplayer but there’s still plenty to be excited about if you’re anxiously awaiting your chance to play though Gordon Freeman’s first outing in glorious HD. At least that’s if this leaked footage is any indication of what the final product is like:
If you think the 14th can’t arrive fast enough, the development team has made the soundtrack available for download right here, so you’ll have some music to listen to help pass the time.
So… whose excited?

I can't wait to experience this, there's only two things that I am a little disappointed in, first, some of the swearing bothers me, secondly its too bad the Xen chapters aren't included. Outside of that, this looks great, and I like most of the dialogue too. As for the linked video that shares a bunch of the story and history of the Half-Life/Portal World, that really gives me a new perspective and sounds like someone has no life and really figured out a lot about the whole story, so I can enjoy learning about it without the pain of figuring it out for myself.
