Borderlands 2’s Christmas themed Headhunter DLC is coming next week

12/12/13 6:00pm
As we gear up for the Christmas season, the folks at Gearbox are prepping for the release of yet another of its holiday themed pieces of Headhunter DLC for Borderlands 2

It’s a holly, jolly time of year on the planet of Pandora, as mercenaries young and old gather to bring tidings of joy and wish good will upon each other, as Mercenary Day is quickly approaching. But all is not well on this merriest of occasions.

An army of ravenous snowmen, under the command of the monstrous Mister Tinder Snowflake has not only taken over the snowy village of Gingerton but they have also stolen Marcus’s holiday gun shipment, meaning there could be no badass weaponry under the tree come Mercenary morn. Not on Marcus’ watch!

This shopkeeper isn’t going to let a bunch of snow munchers prevent him from making a Yuletide profit. In what can be considered a Mercenary Miracle, he’s buried the hatchet with the Vault Hunters and has tasked them with taking back the guns and collecting the head of Snowflake, thus saving Chris...er Mercenary Day.

In addition to this new mission, this update will also bring some holiday cheer in the form of new gear for each character class. For instance, the Gunzerker will be given a Santa outfit and the Psycho will have the honor of dawning the traditional ugly sweater.

How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day, will be available beginning December 17 for just $2.99 on XBLA, PSN, and Steam for PC and Mac.

The Headhunter series will continue on with new missions in 2014. Maybe the next one will arrive in time for Valentines Day?
