Borderlands 2 is finished, DLC started
Gearbox has said today that they finished up Borderlands 2, and have sent it off for certification. That basically means it's one step away from going gold, which is when it goes into full production.
Even more interestingly, Gearbox said that since they've finished up with the main game, they're moving onto working on DLC right away.
"As such, the team is now shifting their focus towards post-launch efforts, including the Mechromancer: the new character class that will be released as free downloadable content to members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club roughly 60 to 90 days after launch."
The first Borderlands had some of the finest DLC ever made, and is an upstanding example of how DLC should be done. I'm excited to see what they do with the second game, aside from the already exciting Mechromancer class.
Not sure how to join the Premiere Club? All you got to do is pre-order the game!

Already put in my vacation request on September 18th so I can't play through at midnight of 17th.

I'm counting the days and splitting it into hours to make the wait seem shorter. September 18 can't possibly arrive soon enough...
TREVRAWR
All right, can't wait!

Loved the DLC from Borderlands, but I have one request to Gearbox: PLEASE, for the love of all the is good and beutiful, DON'T make those stupid quests that force you to grind hundreds of the same thing! I can't tell you how annoyed I was farming brains in Zombie Island.
8BitTree
Agreed. The even the Robolution Claptrap grind quest was a bit tedious.

They BETTER not do that "Day 1 DLC" bullshit that Bioware did with the "Mass Effect" games!

I think this is just the pre-order stuff being worked and not new DLC stuff that Capcom, Bioware, and others lie about when it was being worked on or found to always been on the disc.

Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is one of my favorite DLC's for any game...
