Browser based Playstation Store is on it's way to North America

1/11/13 3:00pm

Finally, Sony is bringing their browser-based Playstation Store overseas. Late last year the online PSN store went live in the UK, allowing gamers to make purchases on the computer and have the content download directly to their PlayStation console.

This news comes from Sony Network Entertainment COO Shawn Layden, who recently spoke with CNET explaining that this popular version of the store will be making it's way to North America this month, allowing gamers to use their preferred browser to purchase games directly from the computer. The article states...

"Eventually, the Web store will allow users to buy a game on the browser and have that content automatically downloaded on the PlayStation 3."

What are your thoughts g1s? Will this new option entice you to buy games more often? Or is it about time Sony brought the store over seas? Let me know in the comment section!

Sounds pretty good. It'll be a hell of a lot easier to go through menus on my computer instead of waiting longer than a Sonic 06 loading screen just to have it register a button press.
