Calling all g1s! Let's try to create a roster for a Microsoft All-Star fighter
With a new Smash Bros. on the way and Sony All-Stars Battle Royale possibly becoming an actual thing that happens, I wondered what it would be like if Microsoft decided to throw the best and brightest of its exclusive characters into a party fighter of its own.
So, I tried dreaming up what the possible roster would look like and well .... I couldn't think of more than a handful of characters.
However, with this sad epiphany, I realized that there's a great bit of potential for fun here. I think it'd be a really neat idea if the g1 community offered up ideas for potential fighters (ScrewAttack staff and partners, you can get in on this to if you'd like) that could be added to a Microsoft Smash game.
Here's what I want you to do. In the comments below, list 5 Microsoft exclusive characters that you would like to see in a fighting game and I'll count down the Top 10-20 choices this time next week.
Let's make the submission deadline Thursday. Just so I can have the proper time to put the list together.
I can't wait to see what kind of roster you guys can come up with!
Note: I should add that 3rd party characters like Meat Boy, can be picked just as long as they did not appear on the PS3 or Wii.
It would feel so wrong to exploit all the Rare characters and pass them off as "Microsoft" characters.
Ethan Thomas from "Condemned: Criminal Origins."
that's because blinx is awesome.
Depending on how big you want the roster to be (thinking 24ish), considering you were aiming at a "Top 20" List characters that have crossed consoles may be a good option to have in you're back pocket. Like SSB having Snake / Sonic, just a couple of characters who are fun to fill the roster. and personally Beyond Good & Evil was one of the huge selling points to me for the original XBox, its the association. For example I was going to put Sam Fisher, because when i think Sam = Splinter Cell = Pandora Tomorrow = XBox = GoodTimes and I know its cross platform but if you want exclusivity make Sam Splinter Cell: Conviction. Thanks for the reply though, and for not poo-pooing Blinx
master chief, marcus fenix, conker, banjo & kazooie, Orchid from KI, the kid from braid and cooper from that rare game that i cant remember the name of...
How about Alan Wake?
Mass Effect is owned by Bioware and Left 4 Dead is owned by Valve.
The Mass Effect games and Left 4Dead games are also available on PC.
Ok, What about the beatles from Rock Band? Maybe Eddie Riggs from Brutal Legend and Perhaps John Marsden from Red Dead.... That is all.
Last I heard Age of Pirates is going to be on the PS3 as well now. That's if it ever gets released in the first place. I think that game is pretty much dead at this point. Shame too, I was looking forward to playing it.
He never said anything about them not having to appear on the PC.
Can't believe I forgot to mention Fable. Maybe not the hero characters, since they're so customizable, but Jack of Blades, Hammer, Garth, and Reaver could be good characters.
Also Stubbs the Zombie.
And though this is once again bending the rules, Frank West. He did get his start on the 360 after all, and it's the platform he's made the most appearances on.
The problem with that is that Shepard is so customizable people would probably want to use their custom Shepards, with their own appearance and class. I just think it would be too difficult to pull off to please everyone, and that a better bet would be to make the squadmates like Garrus, Liara, Wrex, etc. playable.
Maybe add the helpful Microsoft Office Assistant Clippy as a character that assists you in battle or gives the tutorial.
Searched the list of microsoft owned properties and i cant believe almost no one menioned this one yet:Viva Pinata..this one would work as the cute characters in the roster(Like kirby is for Smash brothers). ow and fable characters like reaver and the hero could work too.
Banjo & Kazooie, Conker, Joanna Dark, Fulgore, Sabrewolf, TJ Combo
isaac from binding of isaac, master chief, Marcus Fenix, conker the squirl(note he is now from microsoft) and steve from minecraft
While we're at it let's figure out some Kinect controls for this haha. Well here's a list of things I think it should count... Kaim from Lost Odessey , Those samurai bikini girls you know... the only with zombie slaying in it. Kameo from Kameo: elements of Power, Sargent Johnson from Halo (screw Master Chief)... (flameshield up) Bomberman the Act Zero version of him.... some characters from Blue Dragon... and some mechs from Chromehounds ha just kidding.
this is kinda difficult going up against two companies that had a mascot from almost every exclusive title in their first ten years.
