One interesting aspect of gaming culture is how some of gaming's favorite icons can play a significant role in people's lives. You've probably seen your fair share of engagements, weddings, and birthdays all built up around a gaming icon. This is the same idea, but sadly it applies to that other part of life rarely mentioned; death.

On August 19th in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset a four-year-old child named Dylan Cecil slipped from a jetty and drowned. His body would later be discovered outside a Yacht club a half-mile from where he went missing. In preparing for his funeral, Dylan's parents gave him a send off any gamer would love.

Photos above are of the funeral procession and it is clear young Dylan was quite the Sonic fan. From his coffin to pallbearers, the blue blur was ever present. Please be respectful when clicking through the Sonic themed pictures from the funeral and our hearts go out to the friends & family of young Dylan Cecil.
