In China, gamers will get Naruto Online thanks to Cyber Connect 2
We all know Namco Bandai's track record of porting some of their RPGs to English speaking cCountries, they rarely do it. And of course we know their track record for doing very weird business decisions. So Namco Bandai is working with Cyber Connect 2 making a Naruto Online game which would obviously be a MMO of some sort because hey, Dragon Ball Z did it.
But just like Dragon Ball Z Online (seriously BRING THAT TO THE US ALL READY!) Namco Bandai is only going to release this game to one country and that's China. Yes of all places they decide to only release this game to CHINA, not even in Naruto's homeland of Japan will Japanese Gamers(for now) play this game. You know even though Capcom makes some stupid mistakes and I mean really stupid mistakes, Namco Bandai makes em constantly. They know full well the Naruto games WORLDWIDE has shipped 10 million copies (in total of the games combined). I mean seriously why do this Namco Bandai!?
Still a thought of a Naruto Online would be cool but still it only available in China saddens me. What are your thoughts on this g1's?

It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post.

buck-leupwa | seattle-php | vchernomorec | pflueger28ez-loan | eye-of-berlin | snapperzfunlafayette logo | Actually the game play is really good! Is the good old kart game style, but more tatical and less luck. Why is that? Because you already know what itens you are getting of the “boxes” and you can keep up to 3 itens, so you can collect just the desired ones and plan better how to use them. Besides that, if you can forget the strange game thematic that never tries to explain why your cars have super power, the game is just fine.

I am a big fan of the anime Naruto. And I will definitely be the first to play if the online game is available. I just hope that, it would also be available in other regions. - Michael Courouleau

I wonder if people mod their characters to use the Sharingan, will they get banned or rewarded? It is the Ultimate Hax, after all.

Ninjas aren't banned in China?

"They know full well the Naruto games WORLDWIDE has shipped 10 million copies (in total of the games combined)." I think you just answered your own question, clearly there is not enough people interested in Naruto (example me) so why make an MMO of Naruto if the subscription base will be less than 10 million (somewhere around the lines of 500 000 subscribers in North America and Europe.) It clearly doesn't pay off the development and server deployment costs.

Depends on how well they do it of course, and most naruto games I have seen have been fighters. A fully fledged MMO would be radically different gameplay, and even though most MMOs aren't really success stories they all tend to usually do well enough to survive. If the game was good then people would play it, of course the cost would be a factor but still.

Eh, there will be patches/unofficial servers anyways. There always is.
It's also Namco. In a list of the most idiotic companies that exist, they rank about a rough #3-5 depending. Cyber Connect 2 is pretty much the most successful company at developing Naruto games, no doubt thanks to their admitted love of the series.
What you are failing to mention, as usual, is that this isn't just a Namco/CC2 venture. A major Chinese publisher of online titles, Tencent Games, is actually aiding Namco. From the very source you bothered linking to, its stated that CC2 is just lending some help in its development. That could mean anything from just getting those bloody gorgeous anime-styled looks they've so successfully incorporated into their games into the online title, up to helping with gameplay and the like.
Nothing concrete is stated, except for the title is being worked on by a combination of Namco, Tencent, and CC2.

Hmmm I think its time for another Operation Rainfallproject to get started and get both DBO and Naruto Online released in the west.

The thing is: will it actually pay off for MMOs like this? Sure Dragon Ball and Naruto games are usually quite good, but they aren't guaranteed bestsellers.
