One of the biggest cash cows for Activision was the Hero series of music games. I say was because after Guitar Hero and its many, many competitors and copycats began cluttering up store shelves to the point that the marketplace for music games had become over-saturated. Since then, Activision had to put the series to rest (although I think DJ Hero should have stuck around), but before the publisher did away with its music titles, another Guitar Hero spin-off game, entitled Sing Hero was in development at Pi Studios.

If people really wanted to just karaoke, why not just play with only the vocal modes of Guitar Hero or Rock Band?
The re-registering does give me pause... Activision couldn't possibly be trying to "duel" with Wii U's SiNG, could it?

I have rock band and guitar hero (All of them) and I would still buy this for some new songs that I might not already have

I got my Rock Band 3 and the xbox's free Karaoke app (plus over 2000 karaoke songs on my computer), so I would have virtually no need for this game.
