Community Countdown!: Your TOP 10 Favorite games EVER!

1/20/13 2:00pm
tl;dr

Hi this is a new show I'm attempting to start. Please participate by making your own top ten list over the topic. Thanks! I'm sticking with the normal Screwattack rules, but you can make your own.

Hello Screwattack! with the best freakin' community on the internet, I think we should all make ourselves a little more outspoken. That's why I'm starting Community Countdown! And what better way to start it off with TOP 10 FAVORITE GAMES EVER!  after reading my list( or not, up to you) please make your own! post it in the comments, as a video, a blog, whatever! Just make yourself heard! So, Screwattack what are your TOP 10 FAVORITE GAMES EVER? here's mine:

10: Team Fortress 2

Why not? TF2 is the best dang online multiplayer experience I've ever had! Its got nine unique classes, varied and fun game modes and maps, and that signature Valve humor. Next time you rage at the F*ing pyro that incinerated you, check his name 'cause it might be me.

9: Pokemon Red/Blue version

Mostly for nostalgic reasons, this one has always been my favorite pokemon game. There was so many memorable moments for me: Beating douchey McAssFace(Blue), catching Mewtwo, saying WTF? when I was surfing on snorlax and WTF!!! when I couldn't teach my F*in charizard WITH WINGS how to fly. I never did catch 'em all....

8.Pikmin

When I first played pikmin I was too young to be strategic. I just wandered around and every once in a while I would happen upon a ship part. Now I love this game and can't wait until Pikmin 3 lands on  WiiU. This game makes you feel extreme terror and anxiety, but in a good way that keeps you coming back for more and swearing revenge on Beady long legs for killing all those poor, innocent pikmin! Thanks to Chuggaconroy for re-sparking my interest in nintendo's newest big IP.

7. Shadow of The Colossus

Shadow is the most Beautiful game I've ever played. With its incredibly moving and invigorating soundtrack and simple yet elegant art style, Shadow of the Colossus is the epitome of "games can be art". I will never forget my first time riding across the landscape and scaling a mighty colossus while the epic music motivates me to push forward to a seemingly impossible victory.

6. Portal 2

I played portal 2 way more than what should be considered healthy. Hands down the funniest game I've ever played, portal 2 is Valve's sense of humor at its finest. The incredibly memorable and quotable characters mixed with mind bending fun gameplay produces one of the best video game experiences around. Here's hoping Valve learns to how count to 3.

5.Bioshock

Bioshock is an experience like no other. It has you delve into a world that could've been paradise, but was turned to hell. You roam the lonely, water logged corridors of Rapture with each corner presenting a mystery of what will come next. You sling Lead, bolts, and bees at genetically enhanced crazies and Big metal behemoths who will do anything to keep you from their precious young charges. You unravel the web of secrets and lies that brought down this once prosperous city and uncover who you are in the process. I egerly await the chance to do it all again in Bioshock Infinite.

4. The legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Yes, wind waker is my favorite Zelda game, if you don't like it hey, you can always suck it. For me, Wind Waker had the most memorable characters and story of any Zelda game. I know that skyward sword has the best gameplay and Ocarina is absolutely incredible but there's just something about wind waker that gets to me at my core. The level design is top notch and every boss is big and epic and just plain fun to fight. You don't have to agree, you just gotta respect.

3. Chrono Trigger

Best use of time travel ever! Doctor Who can eat his heart out. Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPG's ever made and for good reason. It's multiple endings to an epic era-spanning story, memorable and deep characters, fun and innovative gamplay, and just the sheer amount of content on a one Super Nintendo cartridge make it a timeless experience. And according to Craig's calculations, time travel makes everything better.

2. Super Mario 64

The ultimate nostalgia trip for me, super mario 64 is what i think of when i think "video games". This game has such platforming perfection of gameplay that it's still the template for every 3D platformer. I beat the green demon challenge and got all 120 and I can still play this bad boy anytime and have TONS of fun. Is it the best Mario game? No. Is it hands down my favorite? Absolutely.

And it's NUMBER 1!!!!

Final Fantasy 6

My favorite game EVER is Final Fantasy 6. One of my favorite storylines ever from any form of media, i get emotional about all the events even after multiple playthroughs. The gameplay is masterful with the refined classic final fantasy battle system along with the esper and relic systems. It also has some of the most in depth and thoughtful characters ever with a roster of  14 just for the playable ones, and they're all fantastic. A big part of any RPG is the music and listening to any of FF6's tracks makes me want to play the whole game all over again. favorite doesn't have to mean "best" but Final Fantasy 6 may just be the best game I've ever played.

Well G1s what do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Let me and the whole world know by making your own list! this is completely community dependent. If no ones bothers to make their own list in response, I won't make any more of these. Make yours any way you want and feel free to post it or a link to it in the comments. It would be awesome if we could get some video responses or even a screwattack crew member to make their own and share it. If you like my idea then please participate and tell me how to make the show better. If not, I love you anyway. Thanks for reading.

Hehe I like your list for you have a good variety. I love Wind Waker and I think that despite the change in animation, the gameplay and storyline and side quests stay faithful to the franchise. Mario64 is one of my fav games too. I never really got into the FF series. Don't know why either. Chrono Trigger is the game I always wanted to play but was never able to get it. Anyway, I already made my own list and here it is: http://www.screwattack.com/news/my-top-ten-games-all-time
