Nippon Ichi Software America is known for releasing games primarily on Sony platforms (with a few releases/ports on Nintendo hardware as well). Now, the company is looking at other platforms for future releases.
In an interview with Siliconera, Haru Akenaga, President of NIS America, discussed the future release of their upcoming title Clan of Champions (known as Gladiator Versus in Japan) . The game will be released not only on the PS3 (the game is a PS3 exclusive in Japan), but also on the Xbox 360 and PC. The PC version will also utilize Valve's Steam client.
This will be the first time that any product from NIS America product will grace the 360, and there is a slight possibility that more will come to the platform. When asked if more games will come to the platform, Akenaga only replied that they are planning on it, but cannot release any details.
As for the PC end of things, NIS America is apparently planning some big things with Steam.
While there are still no details about what will happen with NIS America and Steam, the possibilities are abundant. Japanese titles are a bit of an untapped market in the realm of PC gaming in the West, with the major pioneers being Rockin’ Android and Carpe Fulgar. Not to mention Nippon Ichi is best known for their tactical/strategy games, which could find a second home on the PC.
